Google/youtube is wrecking Invidious.
Up till yesterday I could use at least for browsing channels. Then I used yt-dlp to dl the video and watch it locally. Now when I open a channel on an invidious instance I got 400 error...
Fuck youtube seriously.
 >>/52568/
These days I'm browsing videos on invidious, and use yt-dlp to get the video. But after a while I get error, apparently youtube limits the request rates, and I think their Invidious instance run out of it.
When that happens I use piped to browse. Problem is on pipe I don't see option to order videos. So the two platform has to be mixed depending on usecase, not to abuse invidious' limits...
Almost getting to the point when its just simpler to bite the bullet and suffer on the youtube.

There was one nitter instance that worked reliably. Was a short downtime when Musk got the 5 minutes and shut xtwitter in, but that's over.
The fuck, DPA doesn't update his Odysee channel anymore! Last video is from 7 days ago...
If I remember correctly there is a service for youtube/odysee that yt videos can be pushed to Odysee as well. Did Google break this? They are fucking with ad blockers and frontends for a while, perhaps this is the result of their retardation.
Matt's ain't doing better. He says he'll try stuff. I guess doing something is better than just waiting. Keeps the morale up too.
What doesn't kill you, you can tell anecdotes about it.
Defense Politics Asia News channel:
https://youtube.com/channel/UCRr0ok9LBlj66of_ZrbjNVA
https://yewtu.be/channel/UCRr0ok9LBlj66of_ZrbjNVA
Yewtube did not find today it when I searched for it by name, and ordered it "by channel". I got scared they took it down.
Seems like Real Reporter's channel was killed by youtube...
This is the interview with Konstantin by "Igor in Russia" - I don't know this guy's channel, never watched any of his videos.
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=3-ip1xe_AXA
https://youtube.com/watch?v=3-ip1xe_AXA
I haven't watched yet, but I think his channel got too "pro-Russia" to youtube's taste. He did some interviews with people too close to the Russian war machine.
I really enjoyed his Mali video and the "most nuked region in Russia" was very interesting.
 >>/54500/
This interview was done after he was banned:
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=iYqKEtBIu_U
https://youtube.com/watch?v=iYqKEtBIu_U
Between the two videos airing there's only 8 hours difference...
Also in this video they say the moved to ExTwitter. I opened that up and the user was banned there too.
He says he appealed on youtube, so they might revise but with the Twitter ban... where insane people never get banned someone has some real bone to pick with him.
Now they are killing off Some Ordinary Gamers.
What I'm gathering from one video, some video titles, and narrowcasts on extwitter:
> hurr durr he lied about being an engineeeeeeeeeeeer
> hurr durr he lied about having a dayjoooooooob
Do these guys wanna hire him or enjoy his videos.
He makes good content, occasionally touching important topics and his takes aren't moronic at all, and that's what matters for a youtuber.

What I suspect is that he recently really touched on some important topics. Namely the Epstein-Trump coverup, and the UK "But Think About The Children" censorship act.
Now it's all and fine when noone reads and hear people writing/talking about these issues, but he has over 3 million subscribers and each of his video is watched by some hundred thousand people. He has a reach.
This was watched by over 500K:
https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=ArXk6zdawVE
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=ArXk6zdawVE
https://youtube.com/watch?v=ArXk6zdawVE
Now they wanna silence him, so they dug up some dirt and started to disseminate it, miming outrage, and trying to public shame him. Which seems working, he did not published videos for a week now.

I wonder if his channel will be deleted.

Oh fuck, I forgot. Real Reporter has a rumble:
https://rumble.com/user/RealReporter
He lost all viewers on youtube. He had couple hundred thousand views on his videos, I think his most watched was over 1 million.
For now he uploads his older videos.
We'll see where it goes. He can't make that money on rumble as on youtube.
 >>/54658/
His channel is up again. No old videos, but some new ones.

 >>/54730/
> Why
For Russian propaganda/disinformation. Apparently in that time bunch of other Russian and related channels were shut down. >>/54501/
I do not think he put disinformation up, however what he is doing can be considered as propaganda.
In general people don't know what is propaganda. Usually they equate them with lies, but that's not it. Usually propaganda is taking facts and put them in a light which is good for us or disadvantageous to our opponent. We want to get a message through so we repeat the same thing over and over. We might cherrypick from the facts. Etc. Most direct example of propaganda: marketing.
Disinformation is falsehood. And that's it.
Since Real Reporter makes videos out of Russian related topics, in the time of Ukrainian war there will be plenty of accusation that he is Kremlin tool.
The "pro-Ukrainian" they have little to do with actual pro-Ukrainianism, the last thing in their mind is the good of the Ukrainians... propaganda and disinformation groups will consider anything mildly factual about the Russians as propaganda, disinformation, or even psy-op. Questioning western narrative is a Russian psy-op. We have to believe that Ukraine is gloriously winning while Russia threatening NATO with invasion at the same time.
So yes. His channel showed the Russian side of things, the talked with Russian drone manufacturers, westerners who moved to Russia, Russian projects (like airplanes), and how the Russian economy is doing. For some in the West this is very dangerous. Maybe for nothing else but because showed that Russians are also humans. These days thinking this is also Kremlin-brainwashing...

So this Legend's video of yesterday was an update on hisself.
It is worth a listen:
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=21l4kudVeyA
https://youtube.com/watch?v=21l4kudVeyA

I upload two bits, great takeaway for everyone, should consider these words.
Sad that his videos don't reach more Hungarians. I know some who would surely be interested in what he is saying, but most who know English, aren't the type who would listen.
Thinking about the issue of Real Reporter. So basically the continuation of this >>/54733/
I can recall one instance what I can call dishonest. He made a dual interview with WildSiberia and this gentleman >>/54777/ and how he cut of the material he had with Matt was twisted some of Matt's thoughts. He cherrypicked few lines and removed others to fit the narration of his video.
Now, it didn't changed the point Matt wanted to make drastically, it felt more like a touch up and when Matt asked for the footage so he can publish it on his own channel, Konstantin give him the footage, but still this smelled funky.
So there is one blemish I can think of. Not the size he'd deserve his channel banned tho.

I see. Sounds really interesting.
 >>/54866/
It's not like there is no Russian propaganda. But all kinds of propaganda is there.
And propaganda isn't lying, but telling the truth from certain angle, how to garnish the truth. Any by this, anything can be considered as propaganda.

I mean ofc. But things are a little muddy right now due to the war. So people on both sides may get the wrong message sometimes

Wyatt of DPA seems to struggle with his channel.
Perhaps yt doesn't promote him that much but him trying to do many channels and spreading his content between them doesn't help either.
I hope he won't stop with his mapping and sitreps because it is actually very informative - and can look it up on his site as well. It's sad that they (the other Ukro war content creators) don't take his map more seriously. It's two maps - Ukro and Russian - overlapped, plus the events reported by the Ministries and geolocated footage pinpointed.
And he does this from the start of the war.
I just heard a very interesting concept in here:
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=3TC3cd4oFcs
https://youtube.com/watch?v=3TC3cd4oFcs
Matt of WillyOAM has a chat with AMK Mapping about the Iran war, and at one point they survey the online space, the activism there and whatnot. AMK brings up the concept:
comfort media
In time of crisis and uncertainty (such as wars) people consume their own propaganda to get comforted that they are doing fine, everything is a-ok.
While the focus on here on the scope of armed conflict and the related informational bubbles and echo chambers, there is a more broad use of this. I found this research article, have not read it, planning on it:
https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/15205436.2025.2519191#abstract
Just by ddg-ing I see some more hits, perhaps there is a field dedicated to it. I dunno.

This was probably said by a Jewish comedian decades ago. But made me think. Is this Iran video is humour? Does she parody someone with it? Don't the evangelist armageddonmongers really exist? Or the whole thing is serious except she makes fun of thins, does funny reactions and shit?
Or is that line in her channel description is a joke?
I guess I'll never know.

Also just noticed Lindsay Graham says 'Isrul' instead of Israel.

She just talks caca for the attention, which gives her yt ad revenue. She's been doing it for years. Don't take anything she says or does seriously berds.

cheaper version of her too. ngl
There is a circle of online analysts on youtube who makes podcasts on daily basis with each other and a handful of other people, usually from academy, political and/or ex-military circles. Still yet to see the full extent of them. They talk about the usual current big thing, USA, China, the war on Ukraine, Iran from a more neutral viewpoint. In some circles the are called pro-Russian for sure. They typically criticize the policies of Washington and Brussels, point out Israel's abhorrent policies and actions, promote better understanding of Russia, Iran, China, and basically everyone else.
Funny thing is how they are rotating among each other on weekly basis.
I'll try to write a list sometimes.

It's kinda overdone tbh. Everyone's doing what she's doing.

But people will get bored of her and that type of video style eventually.
