Since the previous thread is autosäging, here's the new one.

This little faggot is making covers for all kinds of popular music.

Previously Venezuelaball posted some songs of a sludge metal band, Acid Bath. Managed to put my hands on some of their songs. Here's a couple I liked.

> I was in my room
> And I was just like, staring at the walls thinking about everything
But then again, I was thinking about nothing
And then my mom came in, and I didn't even know she was there
She called my name and I didn't hear her
And then she started screaming, "Mike! Mike!"
And I go, "What? What's the matter?"
She goes, "What's the matter with you?"
I go, "There's nothing wrong, mom"
She goes, "Don't tell me that, you're on drugs!"
I go, "No mom, I'm not on drugs, I'm okay, I'm just thinking, you know? Why don't you get me a Pepsi?"
She goes, "No! You're on drugs!"
I go, "Mom, I'm okay, I'm just thinking"
And she goes, "No! You're not thinking, you're on drugs!
Normal people don't act that way!"
I go, "Mom, just get me a Pepsi, please? All I want's a Pepsi"
And she wouldn't give it to me
All I wanted was a Pepsi
Just one Pepsi
And she wouldn't give it to me
Just a Pepsi!

They give you a white shirt with long sleeves
Tied around your back, you're treated like thieves
Drug you up because they're lazy
It's too much work to help a crazy

I'm not crazy! (Institution!)
You're the one that's crazy! (Institution!)
You're driving me crazy! (Institution!)
They stick me in an institution
Said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help
To protect from the enemy, myself

I know this band. Although I have not listened it much.

They earned some recognition for sure. I think Hatebreed played one of their songs on their cover album as well.

Posting lyrics made me remember a song I wanted to write about for some time now. From a different genre, although can be categorized in the large family of rock music.
LGT: A rádió/Szól a rádió (~The Radio/The Radio is On)
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=9DtnNPweNbU
https://youtube.com/watch?v=9DtnNPweNbU

As I noted I wanted to post this for the lyrics. I think it's quite rare. Basically they took events and facts about the radio, the history of Hungarian radio, and weaved it into the lyrics. Am gonna try to do a translation in the following post. It won't be an "artistic" translation ofc, and I want to add couple of notes about what they are referring to.

LGT: A rádió/Szól a rádió (~The Radio/The Radio is On) - lyrics

It was called "broadcasting" and it cost a lot
When the first speaker sat at the microphone
His metallic voice lifted off and flew far
And a listener thought - The test was successful
Note: it was really called "broadcasting" in the beginning, with the English term. Prior to that we had something on the Hungary that can be translated to "telenews" which was an idea of the Hungarian inventor, Puskás Tivadar of the telephone exchange. He imagined that the telephone wasn't just for communication between two parties but a tool for mass communication, and they organized a news service that could be listened via the telephone. It had liek 10K subscriber in the country. Anyway he worked closely with Edison, and I think English/American practices had great impact on telecommunication hereabout.

On the Gyáli street a closed up furniture truck stood
Which served as the first radio studio in '23
And it was served as broadcast fine
When adjutant John Marcal sang a song
Note: this is all true. The first experimental radio station was set up in a furniture transporting truck (it was roomy enough) and it stood on the yard of a post office on the Gyáli street, Budapest. Marcal János was a postal coworker, who was an amateur singer. They thought just reading stuff would be too dry and wanted a colorful insert, so they asked him to sing.

They could note about the radio in '24
That it broadcasted the first concert from the Zoo
And the producers cursed the competition
Which sold the Rhapsody in Blue without profit
Note: The first two lines are about the Zoo of Budapest, which was an important place for community events, and they held concerts there regularly (the Zoo had it's on orchestra as well). This broadcast in 1924 June, was still experimental as far as I know, since "official" radio was started next year.
The lines about the copyright wankery surely is a note about the issue how the IP holders needs to be compensated after their stuff is broadcasted. Rhapsody in Blue was published in 1924.

The amateurs living nearby heard clearly
When the station of Csepel greeted with a Good Morning in '25
All kinds of weird antennas jumped into the air
And a clever student tinkered a detector receiver
Note: as I wrote about the first official station was opened in 1925, at Csepel, a district of Budapest. The rest is about the spread of the radio, and ofc a nod towards the amateurs, enthusiasts who built their own equipment and had important role in the popularization of radio broadcasts.

By the golden age all the speakers had learnt that
Improvisation is forbidded, the written text must be read!
Although only a few knew Skoff Elza and Filotás Lili
All the listeners knew how nice their voice is
The golden age of radio begin in the '30s on the Hungary. I assume it was expected from the anchors to tell the news how they got it on paper. Radio ain't free.
Skoff Elza and Filotás Lili were both presenters the latter a decade earlier from 1931 (at the age 23). Both knew languages - German, French, English typically complemented by some others.

The kids were searching the "uncle" in the box
And the grandmas polished it with wax
The mailmen took from the listeners the tax
Who had to pay the same both for the good and bad news
Note: the "uncle" is a generic term for older men, the kids thought someone is in the box of the radio. Since the box was made of wood and not plastic back then it needed some care, as with all furniture, so they polished them with wax. The tax in this context is the subscription fee, I assume it was kinda like the telly loicense for the Bri'ish. And ofc it was the same amount no matter what was the news.

I skip a verse here because it's just a "radio simulation".

Today we receive it in stereo, and it's good
For one can hear different things from the two sides
The beauty in the sound of the grand orchestra
That you sit in the middle and you listen well, the picture is more clear
Note: it's a not so technical explanation of the stereo sound, since it gives a different perspective, a more natural sounding.

Sometimes it interferes with us, and sometimes machines interfere with them
We put them in our pockets, and if you don't pay mind it will pocket you
In clear weather all broadcasts received clearly
And in the programs the old song can be heard anew
Note: first two lines are word plays I tried to translate doesn't matter, first line is based on the interference ofc.

Last year I found out there's native Linux version of the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Editions. They are working well but I don't think I'll ever finish a playthrough again. Back then I finished original BG, and BG2, but not the Throne of Bhaal expansion. Damn long games.
Enhanced Edition makes it possible to play this classic DnD based crpg on modern steel, fixes bugs, changes some rules, adds new NPCs with quests, new items, two new expansions (The Black Pits - arena fight generator?, and Siege of Dragonspear - which is a module for the original story, taking part between BG1 and BG2). It seems okay all in all.

I got a copy of Duke Nukem's Megaton edition. And I compared it to randy pitchford's cursed version.

It's the exact same thing. Only thing they added were just redone Duke Nukem lines from John St. John. And the Russia/USSR chapter. I have no clue why they got rid of the Megaton edition since they could have added extra content easily to that one ffs.

But Apocalypse Now is Vietnam. I assume from the cover it's the boating upriver.
I think I'll check it out/put on the list.

I think you can say that some of the lines and settings are inspired by the book. You can read then watch both and you can see the comparison.

Apparently it happened more than a year ago, but the case has been "in review" since the video above was revealed. The dude in the floor was a nignog suspected of having participated in a deadly shooting. The police claimed they shot in response after he produced a gun and shot a policeman in a leg. However, this is disputed by other people who believe he was unarmed and the shot came from another police (probably that woman seen in the video)

While looking for that I found vids related.

I'd really watch the whole thing spiraling out. That cop whose gun was taken looks incompetent, how he let that happen? Obviously there is more to it.
Then the dude walking up towards the arriving cop cars, calm as a cucumber. Did they just blast him, or did he went for a shot first? The branches covering the scene.
Tried to search about this but who knows when was this taken.

I'd make fun of you to find -1 a challange but I'm sure I would be the same in -30C. And climbing a mountain 2-3000 ms tall is not nothing. My greatest climb was from 2-300 ms to 900+. Tho I was in the Tatra as a kid and I can't recall the specifics.
In cold being wet is a real dread. Cold itself is meh, but the water just sucks the heat out of a person. So sweating has to be avoided as much as possible - but sometimes it's impossible a change of t-shirt can come in handy in case the worn one is sweated through. When I go for a walk into the woods I often take off my jacket, hat, scarf/shemagh and if I have gloves, and climb in a t-shirt and a hoodie well not counting my pants and boxers, and socks, and boots. Around -1 is an ideal temp for general hiking. No insects, no mud. But I think between +10 and -10 its okay.
A thermos full of warm tea, and a chocolate bar can also make all the difference.
I can't even imagine a first experience you had with cold and ice. Perhaps if I visited the Sahara, that would be similar environmental change.
> We soon figured that ice was immune to cloth but could go away with water from our flasks.
You mean you tried to rub the frost off the car with cloth?
> At least I have bragging rights now.
For sure. But you still have to walk on snow, and feel how it crunches under your feet, and wash your face in it.

 >>/52285/
Sweat was the number one concern all the veterans warned me of, and I brought a spare shirt in my backpack precisely for this reason and I switched into it at the top. I managed to remain mostly dry, the strong winds were a blessing. I spent much of the descent wearing no coat at all, just relying on the sun and a constant pace to keep me warm and the wind to keep me dry. When I saw the dry vegetation and dusty roads around the camp, my instincts told me it was 30 °C, even though it was much colder.

> You mean you tried to rub the frost off the car with cloth?
Indeed. We also figured trying to forcefully break the ice would be stupid.

 >>/52290/
A common wisdom here that when going out people should dress layered, so they can shed or put on clothing depending on the need. They never actually tell it how to do it properly and when - because they never actually go out. But the basic truth is in there.
Supposedly wool insulates even when wet. In the past years I read wool and synthetic blends are a good pick for the first layer. I don't know I never tried, all my crap is cotton and cotton/synthetic.
> When I saw the dry vegetation and dusty roads around the camp, my instincts told me it was 30 °C, even though it was much colder.
Heh.

Justice Minister Moro resigned. He is immensely popular and was doing a good job. There have been high-profile arrests and in 2019 the number of murders dropped by 10 thousand compared to the previous year, a decrease of a fifth. This is a result of many factors: in the Northeast cooperation among cartels reduced violence, but the reduction happpened in other states. Legislation wasn't a factor as there was next to no real change in this regard. He retains much prestige despite the scandal with his leaks, eternal hate from the left due to being Lula's nemesis and repeated disempowerment of the anti-corruption struggle by Congress and the Supreme Court.
What caused this was Bolsonaro's elimination of Federal Police director Maurício Valeixo, who had been picked by Moro. In his final address he noted that:
-There was no legitimate reason for this as he had been effective in his post
-This was a violation of the promise Bolsonaro made upon naming him Minister, that he'd have freedom to handle subordinates
-Bolsonaro also intends to replace a subordinate of the director, the Rio de Janeiro superintendent, and possibly other superintendents, which goes against his spirit of giving autonomy to subordinates
-A replacement now would create confusion and harm the Federal Police's functioning
-Bolsonaro personally told him this was a political choice

Why political? He did not say this straight, but what everyone says is that it was to protect Bolsonaro's sons from investigation, and hence why the Rio de Janeiro superintendent is also involved. Their corruption accusations are petty for Brazilian standards but what's bigger are accusations they might be tied to militias. As always Bolsonaro's sons are his priority. This behavior doesn't come out of nowhere as he has few contacts in Brasília, having lived his career in the sidelines, and many reasons to be distrustful. Moro isn't someone he has a reason to distrust but his sons still came first.

French election happened yesterday. Charts by lemonade.
Comfortable win for all but not RN. Macron wish to show "democratic" powers are still strong as written here >>/52055/ is fulfilled.
RN fell not just short from the necessary ~300 seats, but way short. They got about half of it.
I highly suspect Macron and co. (and even Le Pen) already knew what will happen. I think this is also a media stunt to chill those who would side with the "far-right", to put back into their places.
The greatest joke is this alliance of all the socialist parties, from communists to socdems. Really show how socdems babbies will always run to the tanky daddy to defend them from evil fascists.

What a mess.
So basically France is going to be without a function government for several years. Though theoretically the centre could ally with the right and form government but that does not seem likely. The central PM already resigned.

So then there is probably going to be a PM form the left who is representing a coalition of various factions that can't agree on anythign and on top of that need the support of the centre or the right to do anything anyway and on top of that the centre and the right can potentially up end everything and form their own legislation without the left agreeing to it at all(maybe, I am not sure how French government works and whether opposition parties can put forward legislation or not).

 >>/52172/
The left (purple and pink) with the liberals (center, yellow) will form a grand coalition, perhaps including with the "conservatives" (on blue).
Fascist brown shirts will be left out.
It would matter if there would be ideological differences, or different views in key questions, but they all agree on everything.
Besides a modern democratic state in the EU doesn't need functioning government at all, and perhaps not even a functioning parliament (they'll all vote yes on the matters the economical factors want them to vote yes anyway).

I was wrong, the PM always resigns, that's just a formality. So he could still come back as PM. But yes I don't think it will be in a Centre-Right coalition. Maybe the Centre will work something out with the left or at least parts of the left.

 >>/52173/
I honestly didn't check what the campaigns and proposals of each party were. So I am not sure how different they are.

Like the UK France is also heavily in debt but the French government is also much more integrated into the economy than it is in most nations, both of those aspects are fairly left wing so in theory there would not be much change to it. I certainly don't see a left wing government reducing government debt and reducing government integration in the economy.

Wine. White. But we eat it, or drink it as juice, because not enough for wine, and we have neither the tools nor the facilities to make wine although I could give it to a pal who has, or even to a relative, but again, the amount lacks seriously, plus too much bother.
I dunno their actual type. One looks similar to muscat. Others I think Juhfark or something similar, Hungarian cultivars.

Jesus Christ this weather.
We have rain every day for a month now. Last week and last night we got a storm with constant lightning. I've never seen such thing ever in my life. Last night it kept on lightning for ~25 mins, with constant thunder (couldn't guesstimate the distance), until it passed over. Huge downpour too. Was a bit of blackout. It was weird with the constant lightning when the streetlights went out.
It was fucking insane.
It's raining again, half past 10 in the morn but it's dark outside like in the anus of a mole. Less lightnings luckily. Expecting more blackouts. Or brownouts whatever it is called.

Essentially it is ready. I might make it thinner, and/or coat it with varnish (so the oils it gathers from the skin, the dust that settles on the surface won't build up and make it dirty, so it can be cleaned and kept clean easier).

Ok, dedicated thread is opened.

Major update with the ship, I have to get used to modifiers again. I run into problems. Solved it but was fiddly.
Also I really don't like that baby blue water. Something has to be done, but not a priority. Many, many details and possibilities to add, still wanting to keep it simple.
I did not want to overcomplicate the boat neither, so no rigging just for the jib or how the triangle sail is called, so it don't levitate in the air.

Impressive. So the rig with the model more or less works. Shoulders need some working on?

Oh well.
Spoilering is tricky. I have to retest it because I don't remember at the moment. I think the big checkbox needs to be checked all the time, and only those small which images need spoilering.

Yes, I fixed the shoulders as well as some other issues. To make the rig I had to merge vertices at a further distance than I normally would as it would not let me make the rig with Vertices too close. I didn't notice until afterwards but that ruined the mouth and navel, so then I had to fix that but in doing so even more issues came up with faces that were facing outwards thinking they were facing inwards and refusing to be corrected when I tried so I had to do more work to fix that so I could paint them again. Somewhere along the line that failed to translate into Unreal when I re exported it and so now she has red marks on her lips. I guess what I would have to do is reunwrap it in Blender to get the image texture fixed.

Sadly I can't give suggestions or tips on how to form such model. I chose to model Capn. Bernd as a lego figurine for a reason. Each limbs are separate meshes themselves.

Looks like a chink with big teeth.

I think this ship looks /comfy/ and homely in a possibly nostalgic r low poly shot of way.

I wounder how easy would it be o make a pseudo-3D game with still screencaps of 3D assets in RPG maker? Like Donkey Kong on the SNES.

sorry for Tor posting and replying to something a bit old, just wanted to show my love for that ship. Have a great day, Bernds!

Thanks.

In case of RPG maker I guess a lot depends on the creation of assets. If it goes well, the rest is given by RPG maker. Okay writing is another thing.

On RPG Maker?
