I'm back from shop
My good pal Volodymyr did a stellar shop
> jackeys are fine, no need to replace
> front cabel is fine, no need to replace
> crank arm is hitting front derailleur when pedalling
> easiest gear is rubbing on the front derailleur
All that for $40 + tip, job well done

+ he washed my bike and overinflated my wheels

Yesterday I also reminded myself for whatever reason about that coal mine desaster in Chile or Peru or wherever.
Where they sat for like two months and were brought up in a capsule I wouldn't even fit even if I didn't die of claustrophobia along the way.
Heh, these were the long gone times of already internet but not full jew yet.

> @grok, so if even at maximum limit screw the chain still rubs over the front derailleur cage when in SMALL (front) - LARGEST (rear) gear, what is it sign off? Not enough tension in the cable?

Not enough cable tension on the front derailleur (cable too loose) — the derailleur may not be fully pulled inward; add a bit of tension at the pinch bolt or via the barrel adjuster.

hmm

 >>/89576/
Well, it is not really that bad, Milan-Magnier is still very good.
It's not even that bad for me, considering I have a Vendrame 0, a Scaroni 200-400 less than it could be, Lund's 400-600 less.
I may still slide into top 10 for /cyc/.
But if I kept that Magnier AND went for Narvaez instead of Vendrame.
OH BROTHER (rip Hulk).

honestly I don't see how too little cable tension could be the issue here, its rubbing when you're in the easiest gear not the hardest innit aka the base state of derailleur when nothing pulls on it
maybe the angle of the derailleur is off, check if it looks like in 2

please pay attention to the thread
 >>/89583/
cable tension is not the issue i found, it is indeed the angle
the issue is
i am able to align the cage in a way that it doesn't rub the chain but the moment I start to tighten the primary screw (that holds it together), the cage rotates abit
contratry to what I thought, this part (pic related) does not allow any flex

there is this one tiny screw (not limit screw) that you screw in so a tiny bolt pushes against either a tiny plate or simply the derailleur mounting point (on my frames thats enough) and that changes this very angle, once you have it the way you want you you tighten the FD down and it won't move anymore while you do that.
https://si.shimano.com/en/pdfs/dm/RAFD001/DM-RAFD001-05-ENG.pdf the full manual

 >>/89603/
yeah honestly setting up a di2 fd is in essence identical to a mechanical fd, instead of limit screws you have micro adjusting with the shifter and while you have no cable tension to worry about you have way more micro adjusting to do to get the fd position correct for all scenarios
setting up the mechanical grx fd was quicker than setting up the di2 fd on my road bike, not like either is hard or time consuming

The manual actually kinda sucks I've found if you've already fucked too much with your limit screws.
It goes off the fact that you get them at factory position.
Like the problem brtek has with the support screw is something you align first in the manual but if you limit screws are fucked up beforehand you're never going to get it aligned properly anymore without getting those in order first.

 >>/89656/
classified is a neat idea I think thats the one way to make 1x road work if you have gradients on your rides but I heard it requires maintenance checkups for which you need to send your wheel in and the efficiency is garbage especially combined with crosschaining. Pissing away watts

 >>/89661/
I've tested it once at some event and it was kinda nice but it was really expensive since you had to send in your wheelset back then for them to integrate the hub. Plus it was really heavy.

And then campenaerts used it in pro cycling and he fucking sucked with it kek.

 >>/89663/
there's some new-ish groupset from TRP that integrates the classified hub with some shimano style shifters and derailleur, it basically gives you 1x16 or so with a 12 speed cassette
but again the efficiency loss is too great, if you paypig expensive gear you want to tryhard for speed and losing a bunch of watts anytime you're riding a gradient over 5% defies all reason

> In the extensive Spanish doping case Operación Ilex, university professor Marcos Maynar and exercise physiologist Ignacio Bartolomé have been sentenced to prison terms of two years and nine months, respectively. According to the renowned Spanish sports newspaper Marca, these are the largest criminal convictions in the history of doping in Spain.

> In particular, many riders who were under contract with Caja Rural-Seguros RGA in the years 2020–2023 were in contact with the two convicted individuals. Among them is Orluis Aular, the Venezuelan champion who is currently riding for Movistar in the Giro d’Italia. Other well-known names such as Julen Amezqueta, Garokoitz Bravo, and Josu Etxeberria also appear on the witness list. Furthermore, López's name appears frequently in Operácion Ilex. He was also a client of Maynar and Bartolome and received, among other things, DCA capsules and Actovegin Forte tablets.

> Maynar was sentenced to two years in prison, a fine of 2,700 euros, and a 21-month suspension from his work. Bartolomé must serve nine months in prison, received a fine of 2,100 euros, and is prohibited from performing his work for nine months. With this, Maynar now has the dubious honor of having received the harshest legal punishment ever in a Spanish doping case. The sentence is heavier than that of doping doctor Eufemiano Fuentes, who received a one-year prison sentence following Operácion Puerto in 2006.

> Both riders have given a huge amount to the team over the past weeks and we are proud of the way they have raced. With several riders already sidelined through injury this season, and with Michael and James both essential to our goals this summer, we have made the decision to prioritize their health, recovery, and preparation for the important block of racing ahead.
How is JAMES SHAW, whoever that is essential to goals this summer. What are these goals

let's mention some names on the unbound start list:

160 Romain Bardet (squeak)
88 Dylan Johnson (found 3 more aero and science gainz for a top 20 result)
41 Simon Pellaud (li ning star jobber who puts the gr*vel community to shame by beating them)

If Visma and Vingegaard are so concerned about being “greedy” maybe they shouldn’t go for the stage win with their domestiques. I’d find that way more annoying if I were in the peloton than them just winning with the best rider in the race

Kurva anyátok is plural, their mothers.
He said kurva anyját which is his/her/its mom in accusative case. Eg "a kurva anyja picsája" = the ass of his kurva mom vs " kurva anyját basza meg" = suggesting that he should fuck his kurva mom.

It is SO unfair that Jan HIRT has half the points the MILAN
Visible every mountain stage, making his homeland of South America proud.
Meanwhile, MILAN was humiliated EVERY 👏🏻 SINGLE 👏🏻SPRINT.
He should be having negative points.

is it better to cycle 3 chains to wear the cassette gradually and then change everything once it's all worn down or is it better to throw away chains before they start wearing the cassette? will the cassette actually last indefinitely by always using semi new chains? I guess it's still more expensive to do that, however

 >>/90035/
no
But I cycle two chains:
One is on my bike.
If the one on my bike gets "dry" (heh), I'll switch to the freshly vaxxed one (It hangs in my closet next to the suit; I don't need either of them very often), and clean (ultrsonic) and revaxx the removed one and store it in the closet.
 >>/90036/
what?

 >>/90047/
I've only brought my bike to shop once in last five years.

Attention payers may remember the trans gentleman with fresh sutures from a forehead reduction who fixed my headset after I accidentally over torqued the headset bolt

 >>/90069/
It's hands down the worst tactics I have ever seen in a race. He gifted a grand tour win to Yates for no gain other than pushing Carapaz from 2nd to 3rd place and those two didn't have any bad blood prior to the race. And then he even had the audacity to be mad at Carapaz after the race.

You sometimes hear crazy stories about underhanded tactics in the old days but this was literally pure self-sabotage with no possible positive outcome for him. At least it was fun to watch and talk about. It will forever live rent free in my head.

 >>/90070/
I'm ride-or-die for Richie, but it wasn't looking like he had the legs to drop Del Toro if Del Toro put in a 30-second pull to grab Yates

and Richie already had a 1st and 2nd here so 2nd vs 3rd wasn't nearly as big a deal to him
