Hello, yes, I am back, I am surely weighing in at 120kg today.
Splendid job Suissebert, stereotypical precision at counting noombers. Mine are -1 here or there but that's because of filtering out non-participants. Or maybe they were wrong all along and yours are right.

 >>/76299/
I think we really overreacted to an extreme situation for Grug (very long range solo, annoying hand injury) while forgetting he clearly has it in Tirreno.
He still did a bit better than expected.
> just tried to get his history from pcs via entering first few chars in the browser url
> written 'grug' and expected his page to show up

So pretty close to the ideal team probably with Pog + Wout + Vermeesch + Van Dyke + Dewulf + Vercouillie, only with Memco instead of Wout (and who knows if right Vermeesch). Grug for 34 was just too expensive

Slightly disappointed my Danes from the pink team missed the slag and only then tried bridging to no avail.
But it could have been way worse for my northern classics usual performance.

 >>/76366/
> instead of just picking the strongest riders
I think I am ready to retardmaxx it as well. Only after you get over the hump of psyoping into thinking you have found some sekrit formula and all the other overthinking does retardmaxxing really pay off bigly.

 >>/76370/
That HUENS, I have adjoosted him out once and ever since I was like "surely he can't be good on this parcours, it is just recency bias you dumbass" and of course he was good every time.
Retardmaxxer would pick him immediately, for 6 points!

Should be Achooso vs Seixas for tomorrow's ITT. Del Toro isn't that good of a time trialist and I haven't been impressed by UAE's setup in general this year. Lipo is good, but I think not good enough.

Picnic finishes RVV with a brilliant 62nd place of VAN DEN BERG Julius as their best result. Unfortunately this result was only 2 places away from scoring 5 BIG UCI points.

All isn't bad though, as Picnic's 756 UCI points scored since the start of the season are still more than the 700 that Pogačar is averaging per race day. It's not every day that a small team can compare themselves with he who is perhaps the greatest rider of all time!

What a day and what a season for Picnic! On to Roubaix!

If I were a retired cross legend, I would open a winter training camp for road racers who want to gain bike handling skills. Open to riders from any team. Their organization can pay for them to spend winter learning how not to chute.

Guys like Vine and Sheffield obviously have the motors to be great riders but throw away so much potential with shit handling skills.

phwoaar what a race, everyone exactly where you expect them to be in the top 5,
the race is basically a 8 hour FTP test at this point

lovely scenes on the kwaremont, dozens of terribly drunk danes puking everywhere

 >>/76434/
I fucking lost points to Patje's LAME team in the end thanks to Dewulf gone and Per Stront Hagenes showing up out of fucking nowhere. But I do count this as a moral victory. Also because Bęrt is clearly cracking under the pressure. Asgreen? What in the absolute fuck

 >>/76439/
We have established DAYS ago that I still suck in the northern classics, ASGREEN and VALGREN snoozed over the move but were good choices on good form.
Suddenly any big TTer is a great choice for RVV. If this enables my retardmaxxing I will be right back there.

Yes, thus me size that comes with relative fitness. I was also born right after nuclear fallout from Chernobyl settled. I went a class higher than my age so kids a year older made fun of me that I am child of Chernobyl.

I am looking at those winter jerseys for next autumn/spring, I know what is the /cyc/ jersey of choice (alpha ros?). However, Castelli, not only that they are ridiculously expensive, they have like 80 different variants.
Also it's really difficult to tell what situation is the jersey actually for

 >>/76544/
now that I have your attention and didn't just accidentally hit new reply before writing an answer.
any jersey manufacturer should have something in the line-up with a gore-tex or something similar as membrane (gore-tex patent expired) at the front part, to protect you from the wind, while keeping you dry in conjunction with a base layer.
in the unlikely event that you want to ride below 10°C (sounds crazy, but maybe you have some sort of epiphany, who knows), you can have something that extends that layer across the whole jacket.
now the castelli alpha is the warmest variant, it comes with an extra layer at the front to keep you warm. you might ask yourself if a warm merino base layer with an extra thicc perforated summer base layer underneath (the air pockets keep you warm, so it needs to be perforated) wouldn't do the same and you could get a castelli perfetto instead. either as long sleeved jacket or as short sleeve variant that you wear with arm warmers of different thicknesses according to the conditions and that you can remove while you go Z5 up a hill. the nice thing of the Castelli jackets is that they have air vents that you can open or close on the side with zippers.
as I said, other manufacturers have similar products as well, Sportful for example that belongs to the same company as Castelli and has been a long time sponsor of none other that Peter Sagan. they sell their products for approximately 25% less than Castelli.
I bought that stuff for really cheap during the period the whole fraudster Rene Benko Signa Group house of cards came crushing down and the internet bikestore that also belonged to him sold off their stock.

I don't think I am made for this wage thing.
I am back to "work" tomorrow but I am already sick of at as I was sick of church as a child.
And if I am to retire early I would have to start grinding now for a good few years.
But I am already sick of it.

> I don't think I am made for this wage thing.
I had a whole plan ready to be FIRE because no way I would last a lifetime of wagecucking. I pushed and pushed and lasted a only few years. Completely collapsed to find out I have the holy Tism (and a bunch of comorbidities).
Now my life is cyclismo and gardening and riding a 20 yo bike because my health is more important than money.
But everyone needs to get sick first before they realize that part.

 >>/76563/
I am now almost completely re-oriented towards a house on a hill, a small orchard and a few gardening beds.
For a while I thought this is it, I am good, got a good paying itfag wagecuckery, I have it better than 95% of people, I can just ride it out and be an old wise man in a corporate tower, barely ever bothered, and just get paid until retirement.
Yeah, preferably not.

I can only feel the poor souls who really need a situation to realize this is not normal and they can't do a lot about it without nuking everything and entering a long period of complete chaos.

 >>/76563/
yes, those Montenegro people know how to live:
> 1. A person is born already tired and lives to rest.
> 2. Love your bed as yourself.
> 3. Rest during the day so that you can sleep peacefully at night.
> 4. Don't work - work kills.
> 5. If you see someone resting, help him.
> 6. Don't do today what you can do tomorrow.
> 7. Do less than you can, and what you can't - throw it on someone else.
> 8. Salvation in coolness - no one has died from rest yet!
> 9. Labor brings sickness; don't die young.
> 10. When you want to work, sit down, wait, the desire will pass.

akshually, most of my rides this year have been around or under 10 degrees
even my 7 hour ride from last week was around 6-10
my issue is the wind, the merino base layer can't keep me warm when my upper layer clearly gets penetrated thru
thanks for the info, i'll do further research

no it was average its just unclear how accurate the number is because of shimano powermeter.
But it's somewhat believable because we know the numbers of the chasers that almost caught him and it looks like abrahamsen was doing 450-500w anytime he was at the front

Jonas will come to the Tour well rested after Giro d'Italia meanwhile Pogi will show up exhausted and out of breath recovering from his RVV antics. Visma once again winning with superior data collection and strategy.

This is it, I'm never picking Achooso again. I usually keep myself away from him, but this time I thought "maybe I'm not being fair on him, all things considered he's a big talent that will do wonders for competition if he continues to improve".

Nope, not touching this rat ever again. I don't care if he's against complete shitters in a kermiskoers, I'm not picking him.

Yep. France is general is such a treat. There's a wonderful culture of making wines accessible so you can get amazing bottles of Burgundy in restaurants for cheaper than you could from a store. In contrast, in the US, the wines are sold in store heavily marked up due to tariffs and our distribution scheme (wines required by law to have three people touching it - importer, distributor, store). Then they're sold at restaurants for sometimes 4-5x markup from the store price.

 >>/76766/

Crazy, I will never complain about wine prices again.
I'm not a wine drinker myselft, but I recently got a white Kerner from a wine tasting at work.

His race analysis is generally just a race recap and his judgement of riders is still based on the powerlevel they had 5 years ago when he started making videos.

You finally woke up, Jonas. Flight just landed, we were starting to think you’d sleep through it. You good? Easy now... yeah, we’re here. What’s that? "Tadej"? Who are you talking about? Dominating grand tours AND classics? You must still be a bit out of it haha... There’s no rider like that. Seixas? What kind of name is that? A French GC rider who can actually time trial too? Haha… yeah, okay. Sounds like you had a pretty wild dream on that flight.

 >>/76799/
Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up.

Stand up... there you go. You were dreaming. What's your name?

Well, not even last night's storm could wake you. I heard them say we've reached Slovenia, I'm sure they'll let us go.

 >>/76814/
what if he's karma doping? French runners getting kwabbed for decades built up an immeasurable amount of positive karma that is now being funneled into seixas. He will gain 10-15% ftp every year
> he seriously gained at least 10% between the end of last season and now
crazy 2bh

 >>/76835/
What do you need the energy bars for? Just drink sugar bert. I've been experimenting with homemade syrup gels lately. I bought a couple of 300ml soft flasks, boiled some water and put 270g of sugar and boiling water in the flasks. Nice consistency, not too sweet, good for 3h rides. Two of these in your back pocket and you are good to go for big rides. Then you can just put water in the bottles

 >>/76838/
I think if you are feeling hungry you need to a) eat a bigger breakfast and b) pedal harder, I think I only get hungry on really easy long rides, but when you push more watts your body forgets it needs to eat and the sugar is good enough on its own heh.

 >>/76841/
Yeah makes sense, I guess people are just different in this regard. On the Mallorca trip my clubmates always wanted to go to a cafe on a longer ride to eat some cake or whatever after 4h. It seemed very odd to me, I don't want to eat, I want to ride my bike and then afterwards eat, but maybe they just were hungry.

> People aged 35 or older who exercise intensively for years run a higher risk of specific cardiovascular diseases. This is the conclusion of new international research in which Radboudumc participated. Cardiovascular diseases are often not considered in relation to athletes, says researcher Thijs Eijsvogels. This is unjustified, it now appears. Heart rhythm disorders and calcification of the coronary arteries actually occur more frequently among very dedicated athletes. However, this concerns very intensive exercise, says Eijsvogels. "Exercise where your heart rate and breathing rise significantly, to the point where you can no longer hold a decent conversation." Nor does it concern a one-off intensive workout, but at least five to ten years. "Exercising is healthy in principle," emphasizes Eijsvogels. "It lowers the risk of premature death and numerous chronic diseases." The greatest health benefits can be achieved if someone who does not exercise becomes active. The Health Council's recommendation is to engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week. "If you exercise between three and five hours a week, you have reached your maximum health benefits," says Eijsvogels. "Above that, it doesn't yield much more." Therefore, beyond a certain amount and intensity of exercise, additional risks actually arise, says the researcher. "But we don't yet know exactly where that tipping point lies." It is also not yet known why avid athletes suffer more frequently from cardiac arrhythmias and calcification of the coronary arteries. However, it is clear that cardiovascular disease manifests differently in avid athletes than in people who have exercised normally or not at all. They may notice this through a sudden loss of performance during exercise, says Eijsvogels. "For example, if you can no longer cycle at the pace you were doing before and see on your sports watch that this coincides with a temporary disruption of the heart rhythm."

 >>/76860/
Our ancestors had a high amount of low effort excercise. They moved all day long. Intense bursts of excercise were rare (danger, moving a carcas,...). So it's logical to assume that we are not made for high entensity endurance sports.
