> After the riders were stopped due to safety concerns (strong winds), the peloton continued under neutralization towards Alhama de Murcia. There, the riders got into the team cars and will travel to Santomera, where the finish line was originally planned.

> The current plan is to hold a race on the streets of Santomera, but no final decision has been made.

> In any case, the results of today’s stage will not count towards the GC.

what's the point even, also the goomble shouldn't count if you just suddenly turn the race into a sprint stage

> From the race organisation:

> Due to strong winds, and as it is impossible to continue, the peloton will move to Santomera to ride a 10 km neutralized urban circuit.

> Times will not be recorded, but there will be a stage winner and the jerseys will be awarded.

Yes, of coursh even, but if I am paying that much I am expecting Pogicaca tier of dominance in a lesser race.
Picking him is still the reasonable thing to do, probable THE move, but this year it is hard to find anything in the 4 tier, barely anything in the 6 tier. At least UKU is 6.

He really looks like something, luckily ski jumping is still the favorite child of the winter sports association so they will likely be kid-gloving him.
Maybe I haven't been watching this """sport""" for a while, but it also has been a while since I have seen this many Finnish flags in final torty.

That is a GREAT idea!

> 21-year-old Jordan Stolz is the king of long track speed skating at these Olympic Games. The American won the 500 meters on Saturday, beating Jenning de Boo, after previously winning Olympic gold in the 1000 meters. In an interview with NBC , Stolz revealed that he's a big cycling fan and that he hopes to switch to road cycling someday.
> Stolz spends a lot of time on his bike and also watches races when he can. He calls himself a true "cycling fanatic." His favorite rider is Tadej Pogačar , he tells Knack . "I like his style of cycling; it's always spectacular with him, and he attacks a lot. I'd rather see him win than Jonas Vingegaard ."

He would have if he was in a better position. In the last 1km he was far behind and had to launch his sprint earlier than Girmay did. No slipstream to take advantage of and starting from far back it's not the worst to end 4th.
Not saying he would have won a Tour de France stage but if they sort their sprint train out he could farm small races which should be relevant to a pro conti team.

It is set, shan't be picking neo-bougnoule. Don't think the 12km TT is enough to matter that much, despite him winning it obviously.

I have heard that in this extremely semitic state of exception cars work as well. Cabriolets don't, THOUGH.
But wait, does sunroof work as well? Or Allah is able to squint hard enough to see you?

> Remco Evenepoel revealed in an emotional Instagram post on Monday that he found strength in praying with his wife Oumi, who is Muslim, during the past few dark months. In an online press conference, Evenepoel confirmed that he finds strength in Islam.

> It's something I learned about over the past year," says Evenepoel. "It's something we share, and we're proud to be able to share it. It's something each person has to do for themselves—or not. I can't judge that. For me, it's something to hold on to, something that helps me through life. It's something beautiful, so it's nice to be able to share it with Oumi. It's really about Islam."

Sounds religious to me

 >>/65384/
but what kind of islam is that supposed to be
> premarital sex (both)
> show off skin/hair/body (oumi)
> drink alcohol (both)
> no fasting during ramabloblo (remco)
just to name a few things, how can you be X if you ignore many of the fundamental rules of X. Gotta be a fake vibes only Islam or something

To be honest soap does nothing just slides crap off from the surface and you wash it down with water. So even if the soap came with an amount of spores those should have just washed off.
In theory.

 >>/65399/
What I wrote is: if the soap came with spores it would still help slide the same spores off.
I did not write soap is useless, I wrote exactly what it does. Do you think soap is some kind of magical disinfectant? How do you think soap works?

The whole family has now had a recurring cold for the past three weeks. Training has gone to shit as a result. Now the daughter is sicker again, fever and eye infection. We went to see a doctor and apparently she has an ear infection as well. Now I am also seeing a doctor in an hour's time, probably got some sinus cavity infection as well. I just want to ride again goddammit.

why the FUCK did I pick Godu. needs to be consistent and even give a fuck about gc which isnt guaranteed. meanwhile malucelli has 4 chances and it doesnt matter at all if he fucks 1 or 2 up completely

If I knew today's results maybe I'd keep Torito and Van Wilder, hehe.
Surely it will all fall into place once the TT and Mobrah has played out.
One good adjustment I made was unknown Gee out for Feline Fiend.

< Why do you think your first pro year was a bit disappointing?

> “I suffered an injury early on, followed by a crash with quite a significant impact. It wasn't a dream start, then. I also realized that the difference in level between the U23s and the WorldTour is quite significant. On the other hand, it may have been an important learning year, where I immediately encountered the downsides of cycling. But that was also interesting. It's positive that I learned a lot, but I'm not happy with the results. That really needs to improve in the coming year.”
< Did those high expectations make the season extra tough for you?

> “Absolutely. I think there's a lot of pressure on young riders. I definitely feel it too. Everyone thinks I'm going to be a good rider, which is their right. But they also think I'll reach the pros and immediately win my first races. Of course, it doesn't work that way. Everyone has their own growth path and career. I have to focus on myself and not listen to what people say. But that's difficult, because everyone wants me to win.”

< Is that pressure sometimes too much?

> “If I'm honest, yes. I think it hinders my performance. If you don't win, it doesn't mean you're doing badly. But it does feel that way sometimes. That was frustrating at a certain point. You start to think it's not good enough. That's really difficult as a young rider. But I've found support within the team now, and they're helping me focus on myself.”

looks like I missed this article featuring veloman himself. I just summarize the highlights:
> he's from London, 46 years of age.
> founded in 1997 where you e-mailed your picks to him, American Lance fans were the first big group to play it
> shut down for 2 years because ASO went after him for copyright infringement. ASO even invited him to the final stage in Paris, as a sort of apology and recognition.
> Yellow, pink or red? - Pink
> I'm not much of a cyclist myself - more of a couch potato and nerdy fan. I've never even had a proper road bike.
> The second year coincided with the Festina scandal and the sit-down protests. The system for what happens when a stage is cancelled or neutralised, or a rider gets disqualified, was set back then
> Pogačar was 34 credits last year, which was well worth it because he broke the 4,000-points barrier. He was picked by 74% of players so I might put him on 36
> I've made some huge mistakes in the past. The biggest was Puck Pieterse, who I only valued at four credits a couple of years ago because she came from cyclo-cross and had no road results.
> Players are about 30% Britain, 30% US and 40% everywhere else - primarily Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It's popular in Portugal and France. There's even a podcast about it in Brazil.
and how to win velogames:
> It's not really an exact science. For Grand Tours, you need two of the top three on GC, plus the best sprinter, then value for money elsewhere.

> If you still don't believe in performance-enhancing drugs at that team (and elsewhere), you don't want to see it. It's also laughable how the guy suddenly seems to be unaffected by the heat. Inexplicable performance curves (+15 to 20%). Look at Yates and Wellens, who had already reached a certain level elsewhere for a long time, and what they're suddenly capable of at UAE. But also at other teams, sometimes very strange performance curves. People say they have the most money so they get the best riders, but that's not so bad considering how many of them are the best riders. Some certainly are, but many certainly aren't (Narvaez, Yates, Wellens, etc., etc.). Perhaps even the best doctors.

> Anyway, now the reactions will follow: "Do you have proof?"

based wielerflitsers

> It's February 16th, the season has supposedly yet to begin. And UAE has 12 wins. And even more top-5 finishes. Sorry, completely unbelievable. Where are the investigative journalists?

> I want to remain optimistic about the sport, with all my best intentions, but I've been struggling so far this season. A team where riders stand out across the board is the death knell for the competition. At one point, there were only 25 riders left, six of whom were from UAE. Christian, who's cheering like a champ seconds after he's crushed Van Gils. It might be too easy to make UAE the villain, but they're certainly living up to it.

> A statement from Duvall's representative said "In keeping with Duvall's wishes, no formal service will be held." "Instead, the family encourages those who wish to honor his memory to do so in a way that reflects the life he lived by watching a great film
he was in so many great movies, I don't even know where to start. maybe Falling Down in honor of Maxim van Gils.

I've seen this movie before...

Tenerife... shit. I'm still only in Tenerife... Every time I think I'm gonna wake up back on the pave. When I was home after my first Ronde, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to Plugge, until I said "yes" to a lifelong contract. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back onto the pave. I'm here a week now... waiting for a competitor... getting softer. Every minute I ride on Kruijswijk's wheel, I get weaker, and every minute Mathieu cruises the Spanish Riviera in his Lambo, he gets stronger.

Pogacar: Smell that? You smell that?
Jonas: What?
Pogacar: Ketones, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of ketones in the morning. You know, one time we had a mountain stage, for 6 hours. When it was all over, I rode up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' Vismoid body. The smell, you know that sweet Ketone smell? The whole mountain. Smelled like... victory. Someday this Tour's gonna end.

> The rules of the race mean that riders do not have to ride in reverse of their position on GC, with the exception of the overall leader Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), who will be the last man down the start ramp.

What an absolutely insane rule.

I scrape them anyways to get keep having consistent data if I ever decide to use it.
I don't post them because it is a bit tedious, although cutting it to just the pick count + the boring teams would make it far less hassle (solving captcha on the other site and waiting a minute each time is very fun)
The other thing is it is binding to the race schedule, for now I can easily be on time and wait however long you have to until the teams are unhidden but I may not have that time forever, that's why I left only GC updates to continue, I can do them even two weeks late an they are not stale. Boot we shall see, maybe I will to these tomorrow for the grand final of warm up.

Good to her you've managed to come back to training after having the baby. For me, training went quite well this winter but now this prolonged sickness is taking its toll. At least now the antibiotics seem to be working and I hope next week I'll be able to train normally again.

I wasn't even talking about any gratification, I hoped for an extremelyserioushat.jpg response for which I already had a counter chambered and then another counter ready if needed.
Surely immense hilarity would ensue but he just bailed on the assignment.
