> A lot has changed since switching to Visma. It's different training and different nutrition. I've been on altitude training, I'm taking advantage of that now. I was in Tignes in July. It's a lot of little things that make a big difference.

 >>/114699/
Patje failed him. They should have ran the current meta of riding very hard from 120km out in every race instead of this shity number game they used to do it the 2010s. Would have won some rvv too if they sent him there

 >>/114706/
yep -2 min every day. My headunit warns me when it's 30 min till sunset and that helped me get home in time more than once. I often want to take a detour here and there in the later third of the ride and there comes the warning which makes me reconsider and arrive home in time

> The police are urgently searching for 74-year-old Bert from Heusden. He left his home on Demer by bicycle around noon on Tuesday, August 18, and has not been seen since. His bicycle was later found on the Waalbandijk in Zaltbommel. Following the discovery of the bicycle, an extensive search for Bert was conducted in the area. According to the police, the search has so far yielded no results.
Hmm...

There was a press conference with Almeida and Pogacar. Pogi is already talking about having to ride smartly after the first few stages because of Worlds, Europeans and Lombardia. Adjust accordingly.

/elite/ only got 2 questions and basically said that he feels good but has 0 confidence right now. Says that a result for himself would be good but that the priority is helping Pogi. Still picking him.

 >>/114753/
Were it a bit shorter, closer to prologue length, I'd the TT would be for guys like Ivo Oliveira. But it's such an awkward length that, paired with all the technical corners, I think I anything could happen. I guess it favours guys who are good at accelerating out of corners.

The real blackpill is that this is already a Pogi-favoured stage, especially when he probably knows the entire route like the back of his hand.

Phwoar six flatland KOMs from doing 95min sweetspot with pretty perfect weather. Was pretty tired from a shit night of sleep with the baby but luckily the tiredness kicked in only after the intervals.

what kind of "aero" wheelsets do berts have on their grabbel bikes? I still have the stock fulcrum and they look like dogshit, I want to upgrade. everybody is talking about the zipp 303 but they are h**kless and t*beless, both are a no-no

 >>/114770/
I have a pair of nextie wheels on my commuter/gravel bike. The rim is very nice, I think the height is 40 or 45 and the internal width 27 or 29, external nearly 40. I ordered them with a dynamo hub and they have been flawless. The communication on their side is really good as well, if you have any questions regarding the products just open a chat and they respond really swiftly.
I don't have experience with xmcs but I think it's a forum darling on chinertown and weightweenies so probably very good as well, a bit cheaper also.

> Pogacar makes his teammates better
> UAE riders will become stronger throughout the race
> Pogacar will pull for his teammates in week 3, maybe even week 2
> By the halfway point of the race, the Vuelta will become a glorified UAE training camp
> According to his own teammates, Almeida has always produced even better numbers in training camps than in actual races
> Vine doesn't won't chute during training rides
> With no pressure on him, Torres will show his full Finestre potential
Take as many UAE riders as you can. Especially Almeida, who'll finish 2nd in GC, and Vine, who'll 6th with 2 stage wins.

Beloki said "he had his opportunies and will work for the team".
Mas always dissapoints.
Brennar is a fraud when it matters

 >>/114775/
Solid but soulless

 >>/114776/
See >>/114774/
Mas never does shit, brennar wont do shit. I feel there's way better 4 pointers than kruiswijk. I can dig pog-tullet-onley-bisiaux though

 >>/114782/
Meme team but probably wont even do that bad tbh

 >>/114785/
Ok, the uitdebroeks who said "hes gonna have fun" this vuelta and work for "mas" did it. This is the team i'll copy.

 >>/114779/
That must be a nice symphony kek.
Whenever I sit on that bench in front of a chess table under this oak and I hear some rustling roughly above me, and that's every couple minutes, I am bracing for getting bonked on the head.
Didn't get bonked once yet, THOUGH.

I also think there will be a lot of break wins, but there are stages where the terrain isn't made for the break to gain enough gap to hold. Stage 3 looks free af. Stage 9 is the one UAE likely controls to put an end to the race.

Maybe not so hot take, he can definitely win tomorrow and UAE will do 0 controlling.
