Even if you don't have your own digital copies, DVDs and Blurays are fucking cheap today. You can find tons being sold at thrift stores, flea markets, antique malls, garage and yard sales, book stores, etc. Just make sure the discs are in good condition if used and you can get steal deals.

That's the sale pitch. What they won't promote is what you consent and agree to in the TOS (Terms of Service) when you use their products or services.

You know what you automatically agree to in each corporate TOS today? #1 the media is NOT owned by you, meaning they can take it away or prohibit access any time they wish to remotely. #2 they can legally spy on you and collect and sell all your private data to ad brokers. #3 they reserve the right to deny you access or remove content anytime they so choose, again you own nothing, not even when you pay for it.

Don't believe me. Just ask all the gamers who recently had their legally bought content STOLEN from them remotely, digital games and movies. Tell me how "cheap" that is, and I'll tell you how cheap I can pirate a movie and back it up offline to own myself.

The whole point of streaming was to curb piracy and allow cheap unfettered access to media. Then, after one decade, corporations became greedy again, started removing and cock blocking access to users, many services removing already paid-for content and now piracy is coming back with a vengeance, rightly so. If corporations want to be greedy control freak pigs then maybe piracy is justified. Mybe they should allow people to own what they buy and this would have not happened?

Yes, it is actually happening. Greedy snobby big tech companies and corporations don't want people owning anything, they want to control what you have access to and what you will not. They do not care about the consumer base anymore. So it is pretty obvious what options we are faced with: continue supporting & funding assholes who will cock block you as a consumer or support older physical media and/or pirate media to keep ourselves. This is not going to get any better until consumers demand an end to DRM, an end to digital purging by law and consumer protections such as the right to OWN what we buy! Until then, let the boycotting begin.

Don't worry. Piracy is making a huge comeback. There are plenty of games available on emulators and roms too. We don't have to buy or subscribe to shit. We don't have to participate in a rigged market full of scammers. Enjoy a declining consumer base.
