Not to powerlevel but I used to work in the third largest emergency service in the world (BSPP in Paris) so we often had to refer to some people who were at their lowest to the psychiatric unit or emergency unit.
You guys are doing a good job and I can't imagine doing this work in a country like Philippines, I remember hearing on the TV about a schizo who beheaded two of the nurses in a psych ward in south of France so you better treat them good.
Something that surprised me when working there is that we did not have anyone specialized in psychiatry on the ground, we had a link where we could have a specialist at the local hospital over the phone and nothing more than that.
Every new recruits (they recruit anyone fit enough with a HS diploma) responsibility is to look over everything as a helping hand, then since you are "new" you do the shit that nobody wants to really do like recover bodies from metro tracks etc. You have to put them in a bag and bring them to the medical-legal institute or funeral home, it really is not pretty. There is a team member that takes pics and vids of it too for the "retex" (feedback) for each call, so I wonder if any of these have leaked on the internet.
Something that also surprised me is how much this truly happens, a lot of people are suffering from the same thing, it was maybe 7 suicidal calls every day and someone jumping onto the subway 3 times a week (and that was just my casern).
I cannot speak for England so maybe the system did fail her, but of course during my experience we knew we couldn't prevent all of these things. Aside from the stress, it was a good job, especially since we had a military rank and privileges
