Once upon time, girl name no matter. She wake up morning, very early like chicken. She say to self, “Today I go market, buy thing for eat. Very hungry stomach.”
She put on old sandal, one sandal have hole big like moon. Other sandal ok ok. She take basket, basket smell like old fish but no mind. She walk walk walk on road. Road very dusty, dust go in nose, make her sneeze “achoo! achoo!” three time.
On way, she see cow. Cow look at her like “what you want?”. Girl say “moo moo back to you” but cow no understand english broken. Cow just eat grass slow slow.
Then come dog. Dog very thin, rib show like ladder. Dog bark “woof woof” very loud. Girl scared little, run run run small step. Dog chase but lazy, stop after five second. Girl say “bad dog, no chase good girl!”
Finally reach market. Market very noisy. People shout “buy buy buy!” “cheap cheap!” “fresh fresh mango!” Girl head spin like fan.
She go first to vegetable aunty. Aunty say “tomato very red, very sweet!” Girl touch tomato, tomato soft like baby cheek. She say “how much aunty?” Aunty say “ten rupee kilo.” Girl think think, “too much money.” She say “give eight rupee.” Aunty angry face, “no no, nine rupee last price!” Girl sad, pay nine rupee. Take four tomato.
Next, fish uncle. Fish smell very strong, make eye water. Uncle say “fresh fish jump jump this morning!” Girl look fish, fish eye look dead. She say “no thank, fish too smelly for me.” Uncle sad, “ok ok, come tomorrow.”
Then fruit man. Man have big pile banana. Banana yellow yellow. Girl say “give two banana please.” Man say “take three, very good deal!” Girl happy, take three banana. Pay money, man give extra small banana. Girl smile big.
Now basket heavy little. Girl walk back home. Sun hot hot, sweat come like rain small. Leg tired, sandal hole make foot hurt.
On way back, same cow still eating grass. Same dog sleeping now. Girl say “good bye cow, good bye lazy dog.”
Reach home. Put basket down. Sit floor. Eat one banana slow slow. Banana sweet sweet. She think “market very far, very noisy, very hot… but banana good. Tomorrow maybe go again.”
Then she sleep on floor, dream about more banana.
