By default the US don't have equal allies just clients she makes treaties with. Their patron-client relation excludes nationalism on behalf of the client, since the leadership has to allow things for the US that in itself is treasonous - eg. have to allow surveillance, have to allow basing troops/air force, navy, have to allow interventions, have to cater to US companies.
The US doesn't deal with nationalistic regimes and excludes nationalistic states, and considers them enemies. US clients can't do the best for their people... just after US interests are taken care of, and if national interests go against US interests, then the US will smack them back to place.
Eg. Mosaddegh in Iran wanted to nationalize oil, Arbenz wanted to nationalize land, Allende wanted to nationalize copper mines. All for their national interest, for the good of their people. Sure the US labeled them as commies, but they were led by nationalist thought and sentiment.
Israel is a special case.

But I do agree. The US has to actually care for the Americans first. And not Israel. Just as the US favors her own citizens over any other client's.
Weirdly Tucker Carlson says the same, and I find myself agreeing with stuff he talks about. Would not have thought events turn out like this.
