As she put pretty nicely in the text: The soul can deny everything but itself. 
Which alludes to the phenological method of ascertaining truth.
The only thing we know for a fact is that we are. Everything else is up for hallucination. 
I experience more the 'afterlife' when I dream than I ever experienced death, we only learn about death.
And with meditation/active imagination/lucid dreaming that inner cosmos reveals itself to be more rich than any "life" experience.

The only things I would flat out deny are things that go against those knowable truths, everything else is up for discussion.
