Voyager highlighted Griffin as a key element of its future lunar transportation capabilities, enabling regular cargo deliveries to support sustained lunar operations.
Recently announced as NASA's Moon Base II mission, Griffin Mission One will continue on its current development schedule following the acquisition.
Pittsburgh to Become Voyager's Lunar Headquarters
Under the agreement, Astrobotic will continue operating from its existing facilities in Pittsburgh, with the location becoming the center of Voyager's broader lunar operations.
The company also maintains operations in Mojave, California, supporting its reusable launch vehicle programs.
The acquisition comes as NASA and industry partners work toward establishing a sustained human presence on the Moon through the Artemis program.
Voyager specifically linked the transaction to ongoing efforts to develop the infrastructure required for long-duration lunar operations.
The deal positions Voyager as one of the few companies pursuing an integrated approach to lunar infrastructure rather than focusing on a single product or service.
