3. Alerting the UN Security Council - Romania will formally inform the United Nations Security Council about this brutal and repeated violation of international law by the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Department for Emergency Situations, and the Romanian Intelligence Service have been mobilized. Together with the local authorities in Galați, they are managing the consequences of the incident on the ground. A full investigation has been launched into the circumstances of the drone's fall, and technical expertise has been ordered to recover fragments for the precise identification of the weapon type and trajectory. I have asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately present a series of measures to be taken regarding relations with the Russian Federation, proportionate to this extremely serious situation. 
Romania is a NATO member state and will not accept, in any way, the war of aggression waged by Russia against Ukraine to be transferred onto its citizens. The defense of national territory and Romania's citizens remains my supreme duty, as provided by the Constitution. It is a duty whose fulfillment we assume together with our allies, and today, as every day, we are stronger together.
Romania's support for Ukraine—political, humanitarian, military, and on the path to European integration—remains steadfast. The longer Russia continues this war, the clearer it becomes that it must end through a just and lasting peace that respects Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

I just spoke with President @NicusorDanRO of Romania about the Russian drone that hit a residential building in Galati.  I assured him of NATO’s absolute solidarity with Romania and expressed sympathy for those injured in the incident. I affirmed that NATO stands ready to defend every inch of Allied territory. We will continue to enhance our readiness to deter and defend against any threat, including from drones.
Russia’s reckless behaviour is a danger to us all. They continue to target civilians and civilian infrastructure across Ukraine. And last night showed yet again that the implications of their illegal war of aggression don’t stop at the border. 
Russia’s war needs to end, as does Russia’s disregard for civilian safety. For our part, we will continue to strengthen our deterrence and defence at home and continue our support for Ukraine as they defend against Russia’s aggression.
