I first met Philip in 2025 when he was working to restore service after Hurricane Helene.
With roads & comms washed out, he waded into Broad River and hiked more than 3 miles up stream.  He grabbed fiber conduit and, in a kayak, brought it down to Chimney Rock.  
Phillip ended up making that trek seven times as part of efforts to bring service back online.
