White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - In-town pool report #8: Back at White House
The president’s motorcade arrived at the White House at 1:37 p.m. He walked inside the north entrance at 1:43 p.m. after lingering outside for several minutes, appearing to closely examine a column at the north portico.
He did not respond to your pooler shouting a question about the status of a deal with Iran.
On the ride back from the cemetery this time, three demonstrators stood inside the roundabout where the arch is due to be constructed, two holding “Stop arch insanity” posters and one with a poster reading, in part, “Honor the fallen.” The larger crowd of protesters remained at the other end of the bridge, despite the light rain.

White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - In-town pool report #7: Departing cemetery
The pool, from a distance, could spot President Trump and VP Vance walking back to the motorcade at 1:25 p.m.
Motorcade departed at 1:27 p.m. en route to White House. Photographers spotted Vance still behind, waiting for his own motorcade, as we drove by to leave. Another gun salute is ongoing as the president’s motorcade travels through the cemetery to the exit.

White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - In-town pool report #6
President Trump began speaking at 12:53 p.m. Like VP Vance, he received a standing ovation and cheers as he was announced. (Sending late because there was no cell service in amphitheater. We are still at the cemetery.)
“What a beautiful day, as it turns out,” the president said to the crowd sitting in the rain in the amphitheater. “It’s just perfect. We’d rather have this than the heat.”
He called it a “momentous year,” given the 250th celebration coming up this summer, and spoke about the sacrifice of members of the U.S. military throughout the time since. He also highlighted specific veterans present at the memorial service today.
The president read from teleprompters, and was not behind bulletproof glass here.
He noted that 13 service members have been killed in the ongoing war with Iran, and drew applause when he said Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
The president spoke for just over 20 minutes. He, Vance, Hegseth and Caine then saluted as “Taps” was played.
Trump raised a fist in the air and some in the crowd cheered before he walked offstage at 1:20 p.m.
Pool is back in the vans now, waiting to depart.

White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - In-town pool report #5: Rainy memorial service
The audience applauded as President Trump, VP Vance, Secretary Hegseth and General Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, walked onto a stage at the front of the amphitheater at 12:30 p.m.
Rain has begun falling, prompting many in the crowd, which is exposed to the elements, to hurriedly put on ponchos. The president is expected to speak last, and the speeches are being live streamed.
Tulsi Gabbard, the outgoing director of national intelligence, is also in attendance with the other administration officials listed in the previous report.
