FBI Director Kash Patel @FBIDirectorKash - This FBI and @TheJusticeDept just received a guilty plea in a multi-state investigation involving the sexual exploitation of children.
Last spring, our local partners in Toledo, Ohio arrested a subject Brett Tooman after he allegedly traveled to the area to sexually abuse a 7-year-old girl.
That investigation ultimately led to multiple other individuals, including one subject, Lincoln Erickson, who was working as a medical resident at a Michigan hospital. Erickson had been linked to the same case receiving AI-generated child pornography and discussing traveling to sexually abuse children.
This FBI arrested Mr. Erickson in December. This week, Mr. Erickson pled guilty to those charges.
More lives saved thanks to FBI investigators and partners’ relentless work protecting kids.

FBI Director Kash Patel @FBIDirectorKash - May 22: Fighting violent crime during the 2026 @FIFAWorldCup
Thanks to stronger partnerships, surging resources, and proactive initiatives by this FBI, violent crime rates in America have seen the largest decrease since 1937 – a 90 year low and 1.1 million fewer violent crimes than 2024.
In 2025, massive, multi-pronged efforts like Operation Summer Heat, Operation Viper, and Operation No Escape successfully targeted violent offenders, fugitives with outstanding felony arrest warrants, and violent street gangs. This work has continued unabated this year.
With the 2026 @FIFAWorldCup starting soon, the FBI is taking these same approaches to crushing violent crime, especially in the 11 host U.S. cities, to help keep players and fans safe. We have hundreds of multi-agency task forces working nonstop to run investigations, exploit gang vulnerabilities, share cutting edge analytical resources, and target organizational leadership. They include more than 175 Safe Streets Task Forces focused on violent gangs and 50 dedicated Violent Crime Task Forces. Our violent gang task forces alone are staffed by more than 1,000 special agents.
Throughout the tournament, we will be working 24/7 behind the scenes to support our law enforcement partners every way we can. You can help by reporting any suspicious activity in your communities at
