America 250: Citizen Rebellions Against British in North Carolina. University of Massachusetts Lowell history professor Abby Chandler described mid-18th century citizen uprisings in North Carolina against the British over their policies. The rebellion was part of what was known as the Regulator Movement and is considered a prelude to the Revolutionary War.
