K3RRR @K3TripleR - This is a little reminder to give a nod of grateful appreciation to Richard and the countless folks who publish open-source goodies for all of us…
Quote:
Captain Insight @CaptainInsightX - One guy. One Navy ship. One file. 1 trillion databases.
He built it alone in 2000. And gave it away forever.
Meet D. Richard Hipp
> American developer. Born 1961 in North Carolina.
> In 2000, working as a contractor on a US Navy destroyer.
> Got frustrated with bulky databases that needed servers and setup.
> Built SQLite in his spare time ~ a single-file database engine.
> No server. No installation. No configuration. Just one file.
> 25 years later, every iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows PC runs SQLite.
> Powers Chrome, Firefox, Safari, WhatsApp, iMessage, Skype.
> Runs inside Tesla cars and commercial airplanes.
> Over 1 trillion SQLite databases active worldwide today.
> Put the entire codebase in the public domain. Zero royalties forever.
> Trillion-dollar companies use his code. He's never charged a cent.
> Still maintains it full-time with a tiny team of 3.
> Pledged free support and updates until at least 2050.
> No VC money. No acquisitions. No spotlight. Just code.
Every app on your phone runs his invisible masterpiece.
Most engineers build for fame. He built for forever.
Database GOAT.

Kari Lake @KariLake - Video: Washington DC
Singing the National Anthem not allowed at Washington DC‘s Lincoln Memorial??
Video shows a security officer at the Lincoln Memorial ordering a patriot and professional opera singer to stop singing the National Anthem. Hugo Castillo was just about to sing, “O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave,” when Hugo says the officer told him to stop singing and escorted him away.
I visit this memorial often and I WISH I would encounter a patriot like Hugo singing our national anthem while there
Let’s focus on curbing real crime.
Keep singing, Hugo

Knights of Columbus @KofC - Video: While in seminary during the clergy abuse crisis, Father John Hollowell felt called to pray in a radical way: that he might share in suffering for the sake of victims. A year later, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Through surgery, recovery, and later a second devastating diagnosis, he continued to offer his suffering to God in union with Christ. Then, during a pilgrimage to Lourdes, he experienced a remarkable healing. Father Hollowell’s story is a moving witness to the mystery of redemptive suffering and to the truth that, when united to Christ, even profound pain can become a source of grace for others.
