U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement @ICEgov - Video: Las Vegas police arrested John Young Cotter Johnstone, an illegal alien from the UK, who police say was captured on video dragging and swinging dogs by their leashes and kicking one dog.
Johnstone faces multiple charges connected to animal abuse he allegedly committed while working at a local rescue in Nevada.
The same day Johnstone was arrested, ICE issued an immigration detainer with the Clark County Detention Center. The next day, April 2, Clark County officials honored the detainer, and ICE took custody of the alleged animal abuser.
Johnstone came to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program as a visitor. He was supposed to leave the country by Feb. 22, 2022.
ICE secured a final order of removal. He’ll stay in ICE detention pending local charges.

A jury convicted her in 2018, and she was facing a 16-year prison sentence. Later, an appellate judge in New York upheld her guilty conviction but reduced her sentence to just 10 years.
ICE arrested her upon her release from the Taconic Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, N.Y., April 6 and deported her April 15.
She entered the United States at an unknown place and time over a decade ago and had no legal right to remain this country. An immigration judge ordered her removed in 2014.
