Adventures in California History @pitsenberger - Tomorrow, May 6th, 1844, the 51-member "Stephens–Townsend–Murphy Party" left near present-day Council Bluffs, Iowa, headed west for the promised land in Oregon, but they would end up in California instead. That party would become the first to cross the Sierra Nevada with their wagons in tow, guided by Elisha Stephens (pictured) and Caleb Greenwood (no photo exists). Rightfully, Donner Pass should be known as Stephens Pass, but history chose otherwise. Imagine you and the family set out on a multi-month journey across the country to a land you really know little about, and you must get there before winter closes down the mountain passes. We have hiked Donner Pass, and there is a small sign along the trail that honors the wagon train. We were up at the pass to repair a Lincoln Highway logo on the subway under the railroad, which accounts for the bucket and paint we are carrying. We walk in the footsteps of history.

alex @alexbeauchamp3 - Yesterday I went to a local church to watch a friend get baptized.
While I was there, I kept noticing the girl I'm hugging in this photo. She was waiting to get baptized, and I just felt this pull to go encourage her like she might not have anyone there for her.
After she got baptized, I went up to her and started talking to her. She was there completely alone. She told me she'd been coming to church on and off for 4 years and finally decided to get baptized.
I got to pray over her and just be with her in that moment, which felt really special.
I share this to encourage you. Don't ignore those nudges. God's after our obedience all it takes is a willing vessel to share the love of God
