He pled NOT GUILTY and his defense immediately demanded a trial date.
Prosecutors didn’t expect it.
The room went quiet.
The defense is now moving to subpoena Congress, including January 6th committee records.
And they may argue an “alternate perpetrator” theory - suggesting someone else could be responsible.
Meanwhile, tensions exploded in court, with the judge reportedly yelling at defense attorneys during heated arguments over what evidence can be made public.
A trial is coming.
And this case is far from settled.
