Secretary Brooke Rollins @SecRollins - By establishing the National Food Safety Center in Iowa and expanding our scientific capabilities, @USDA is positioning FSIS to powerfully support American agriculture and protect public health.
This builds on a FULL YEAR of putting science and safety first at FSIS. Under @POTUS' leadership, we’re delivering the safest, most abundant, and most affordable food supply in the world, backed by gold-standard processes and inspections Americans can trust.
These changes show our commitment to modernizing USDA while delivering real results for the American people.

USDA is announcing a reorganization of the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) with the establishment of a new National Food Safety Center in Urbandale, IA, and a Science Center in Athens, GA.
The reorganization does not impact FSIS’ frontline inspection workforce or any reduction in force. All FSIS employees will retain positions within the agency.

Secretary Brooke Rollins @SecRollins - At USDA, we are putting Farmers FIRST.
This reorganization moves our research and innovation CLOSER to our land-grant universities and outside the Beltway.
We’re streamlining operations to make @USDA more responsive and efficient. Delivering real results for the men and women who feed, fuel, and clothe America.
We’re getting it done!

USDA is advancing reorganization and restructuring of the Research, Education, and Economics Mission Area (ERS, NASS, NIFA, ARS) with relocations across the country including a reestablished presence in Kansas City, MO; St. Louis, MO; and the decommissioning of the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center to relocate research programs to facilities across the country better aligned with regional agricultural needs.

Secretary Brooke Rollins @SecRollins - Video: For decades, Beltsville was a leader in agricultural research.
Today, it’s a case study in what happens when Washington prioritizes bureaucracy over results.
Over 60% of facilities inactive.
Hundreds of millions in deferred maintenance.
Unsafe conditions for employees.
At some point, you stop patching a broken system and you FIX IT.
We are doing exactly that.
We’re closing failing infrastructure at BARC and moving that research to 90+ labs across the country, where it can ACTUALLY deliver for farmers.
Because putting Farmers First means funding real innovation, not propping up buildings that no longer work.
Less bureaucracy. More results.

Secretary Doug Burgum @SecretaryBurgum - Happy 100th birthday, Mr. Lenze!
The whole nation is grateful for your service and sacrifice.

While visiting #WashingtonDC for his 100th birthday, World War II veteran Joe Lenze stopped by the World War II Memorial yesterday. Mr. Lenze served in General Patton's Third Army from 1944 to 1946, as the Allies pushed into Germany and ended the war in Europe. At the memorial, Mr. Lenze and his family were given a special tour by volunteer George Kerestes, and a group of schoolkids spontaneously came up to shake his hand and thank him for his service.
