It's the first time a Greenland shark has been documented on Ireland's coast. The 9 1/2 foot fish was estimated to be 150-years-old, and being very close to maturity. This was just a young pup by Greenland shark standards. "The Greenland shark is the longest living invertebrate in the world with a life span of several centuries; the oldest recorded specimen was over half a millennium in age." It is also one of the world's largest sharks that can grow to over 20 feet in length.
