Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani @NYCMayor - To all Sikh New Yorkers: Happy Khalsa Sajna Diwas and Vaisakhi!
This joyous holiday commemorates the founding of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh ji, a defining moment that established the Sikh identity and its call to serve humanity selflessly, protect the religious rights of all, and stand against political oppression, tyranny, & discrimination.
May we all carry forward the spirit of Vaisakhi as we work together to build a city rooted in freedom and belonging for all.

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani @NYCMayor - On Yom HaShoah, we pause to remember the six million Jewish victims of the Nazis' systematic program of mass murder, along with the millions of others murdered by the Hitler regime.
We remember the scale of this horror, and the systems of hatred and dehumanization that made it possible — and that still echo in our world today.
In New York City, home to more Holocaust survivors than anywhere else in this country, that memory lives among us and shapes who we are. The resilience of survivors is woven into the very fabric of this city, and it calls on all of us to act with courage and clarity in the face of injustice.
Today, as antisemitism rises once more, we are reminded that remembrance alone is not enough. We must confront hate wherever it appears.
As we light the yahrzeit candle, let us come together to protect its fragile flame — and shield it from the cold winds of hate and cruelty.
"Never again" is a promise. And it is one we must fight to keep.

Megan Basham @megbasham - Gold Star wife shares what it was like to lose her husband and why she sees herself in Erika Kirk.
Quote:
SharrellAnne @SharrellAnne2
I’m going to speak on this from a place most of you will never understand.
That first year after I buried my husband, I showed up to things I had no strength for. I pushed through anyway because when you’re carrying a legacy and raising kids without their father, you don’t get the luxury of falling apart.
So when I see Erika Kirk step back, I’m not confused by it at all. Her husband was assassinated in cold blood for the whole world to watch, she’s raising their children without him, and now there are credible threats to her safety on top of it, along with a level of attention and hostility most of us will never have to face. That’s more than enough reason.
And here’s what makes this even worse, she doesn’t owe any of us an explanation, but she gave one anyway. Not out of obligation, but because she respects the people who show up for her and for her husband’s legacy.
That’s the kind of character we’re talking about.
And for Candace Owens to take that and turn it into a public attack?
Scripture is clear about how we’re called to treat widows.
This isn’t discernment. She’s not just asking questions. And this sure as hell isn’t anything resembling truth.
It’s evil.
