Farm Girl Carrie @FarmGirlCarrie - A federal jury in Detroit, Michigan, awarded approximately $12.69–12.7 million to Lisa Domski, a Catholic woman and longtime IT specialist at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). Domski worked for BCBSM for over 30 years. She was fired on January 5, 2022, after refusing the company’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
As a devout Catholic, she requested a religious exemption, explaining her sincere belief that human life begins at conception and that the vaccines (at the time) were developed or tested using fetal cell lines from abortions, which conflicted with her faith’s teachings on abortion.
She cited the Bible and provided supporting information, including from her priest. She sued BCBSM for religious discrimination under Title VII, alleging the company denied her accommodation request without proper engagement, placed her on unpaid leave, and terminated her.
The case was Domski v. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
The jury found in her favor and awarded:
$10 million in punitive damages (for malicious or reckless conduct).
$1.7 million in lost wages (back pay and front pay).
$1 million in noneconomic damages (emotional distress/pain and suffering). Total: ~$12.69–12.7 million.

Fr. Joseph Krupp @Joeinblack - It is almost impossible to overstate the importance of daily Scripture.
Everything we read, we take into our ourselves.
Everything we take into our ourselves changes us.
Most of us choose daily to take horrors into ourselves: the outrage mongers, the political hacks and those who see you as a means to wealth & power.
We take all this into ourselves and wonder why we are frightened and angry all the time.
Let God’s word enter you today and transform you.
Let truth, beauty & light be what makes you what you are.

I had a very ironic conversation with a neighbor who found out I was Catholic & asked “well why do you all think you can only worship on Sunday’s” while ironically not knowing I’m a daily Mass-goer & that basically within an hour radius, you can find a Mass happening any time…
Not to mention parishes like mine that offer 24/7 adoration…
I haven’t met a single person who actually disagrees with what the Catholic Church ACTUALLY teaches, hence why I (exponentially smarter than most, DEFINITELY with more free time to research) converted
