Bartemy Jones @BartemyS - My high school dropout boomer parents got married at 18 and 17 and lived in a cold water (no hot water) flat in the core city of St. Louis.
They had three kids and rented apartments for 17 years before they bought their first modest home.
They both worked multiple jobs and drove beater cars or took the city bus.
AND they were thankful because they didn't have to do all of that during the depression which was worse.
This was the common experience of most of our neighbors as well.  That's why they were called working class.
You are so spoiled and pampered you have no idea.
