White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - In-town pool report #2: POTUS, FLOTUS, and the Easter Bunny come out on balcony
POTUS, FLOTUS, and the Easter Bunny stepped out on the second floor balcony overlooking the South Law at 10:48am to “Hail to the Chief.”
Also present are Tiffany Trump and her husband Michael Boulos and their son, along with Eric and Lara Trump and their children.
POTUS then saluted as the National Anthem was played. He then took to the podium and celebrated the US serviceman who was rescued in Iran over the weekend.
The president recounted at his first news conference this administration how he was asked about the price of eggs and touted success under his administration.
He wrapped at his remarks at 10:57am.
POTUS and FLOTUS then walked down the steps to stand with the military band at 10:58am. The pair then made their way over to speak with the band’s conductor. He waved briefly to the press. The pool started shouting questions, to which POTUS smiled and pointed to the band, signaling us to be quiet.

White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - In-town pool report #3: POTUS gaggles
POTUS, FLOTUS, and the Easter Bunny stepped out on the second floor balcony overlooking the South Law at 10:48am to “Hail to the Chief.”
POTUS gaggles w/ the press for about 10 minutes.
He said he has has read the ceasefire proposal that was reported this morning and called it “a significant step.”
He was asked repeatedly about the risk of committing war crimes in strikes against Iran if a deal is not reached, but did not answer.
On the Iranian people: “they don't hear bombs go off, they're upset. They want to hear bombs because they want to be free. And the only reason they're not out protesting, you know, that is because they were informed that if they protest, like the wrestler and his friends, if they protest, they will be shot immediately.”
FLOTUS was also asked a question about the children spending Easter in war zones. Your pool did not pick up that audio, but POTUS said the U.S. was fighting for the children .
“That's who we're fighting for. We're fighting for children that are now in a war zone. We're keeping them as safe as we can possibly keep. but we're fighting for their parents, their grandparents. We're fighting for them. We're fighting for them. And I will tell you it was given to be loud and clear the time the Iranian people are the most unhappy when you hear bombs all over is when those bombs stop.”
