FBI Director Kash Patel @FBIDirectorKash - Video: FBI was proud to join our partners announcing a major breakthrough in a decades old cold case out of Texas… the infamous “Texas Killing Fields” case, where the bodies of dozens of murdered women and young girls were discovered in a League City field near Houston from the 1970’s through 1990’s.
James Dolphs Elmore Jr. is in custody and has been indicted for his alleged role in the deaths of 16-year-old Laura Miller and 30-year-old Audrey Cook, two of the women whose bodies were found in 1986. Thank you to @FBIHouston, partners in Galveston, and Texas law enforcement for the great work.
This is the second major decades-old cold case the FBI has helped solve in a matter of weeks - as our investigative teams and in-house Investigative Genetic Genealogy (IGG) team continue to do outstanding work with partners 24/7.

FBI Minneapolis @FBIMinneapolis - #FBI Minneapolis is one of 11 FBI field offices which will have a surge of federal resources sent to Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota to help solve violent crimes and improve safety across tribal lands in the upcoming months.
The plan is part of Operation Not Forgotten, announced yesterday by the Department of Justice. The operation will focus on unresolved cases in Indian Country with a priority placed on cases involving violence against women and children, including those who are missing or murdered.
The FBI's Indian Country program currently has 4,100 open investigations across the country since the start of the 2026 fiscal year.
