America First in Action: U.S. Records Net Negative Migration Across Every Metro Area
The United States has achieved a historic turnaround on immigration, with net migration falling across every single metropolitan area in the country last year. It’s yet another major victory in President Donald J. Trump’s unrelenting commitment to securing our borders and putting America First.
From The New York Times:
“In the Laredo metro area, on the Texas border, immigration screeched to a virtual standstill. El Centro, a metro that has historically served as a desert gateway into California, lost more people to other countries than it gained. In Denver and its suburbs, the net immigration rate fell by almost three-quarters. In the Chicago area, it was slashed by nearly two-thirds.
Every metro area in the United States, in fact, experienced lower immigration rates during the year leading up to July 2025 compared with the previous year, according to new estimates released on Thursday by the Census Bureau.”
These sweeping reductions reflect the undeniable success of President Trump’s signature border security policies. With illegal border crossings at their lowest level since the 1970s, the U.S. recorded net negative migration last year for the first time in at least 50 years — reversing decades of open border failures that undermined American workers, strained public resources, and eroded national sovereignty.
The American people voted for a secure border and a sovereign nation. President Trump is keeping that promise — and the results speak for themselves.

White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - In town pool report #8
President Trump was asked about his use of mail-in ballot recently. He said he did so because he is president of the United States. He cited exceptions for mail-in ballots and stressed that he was in DC mostly so he chose that option.
Trump said on Iran: “we don’t know” that they’ve laid mines in the Strait.
On taking Iran’s oil: “it’s an option”. He talked about Venezuela and the benefits of having access to their oil.
He joked that he might run for president in Venezuela after he leaves office.
He talked about Europeans allies who have not been willing to partake in the Iran war. Pointed out that the U.S. provides assistance-to Ukraine to keep Europe safe but Europeans don’t want to help keep Americans safe (but he says King Charles’ visit a DC is unaffected by what’s happening)
Potus said he hasn’t decided yet if the Friday deadline on Iran would be pushed back. He said a day is a long time in “Trump time.”
He criticized Gov. Gavin Newsom. He talked about how he took several cognitive tests and says he thinks anyone who is president or vice president should take a cognitive test. Criticized Biden and Obama.
At 12:13, the pool was escorted out of the cabinet room.
