The former DOGE employees—like Justin Fox and Nate Cavanaugh—are being deposed in The Authors Guild et al. v. National Endowment for the Humanities et al., docket number 1:25-cv-03923-CM in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.  
It’s a lawsuit filed back in May twenty-twenty-five by groups like the Authors Guild, American Historical Association, and others, challenging DOGE’s role in mass-canceling over fourteen hundred NEH grants—mostly ones they flagged as “DEI” using ChatGPT. The plaintiffs say it was unlawful, discriminatory, and bypassed proper authority.  
Court ordered the depositions during discovery last December and January; the guys had to sit for hours of sworn testimony, which got released as videos and transcripts… until a judge yanked them offline this week after they went viral and sparked harassment. That’s the main case forcing ’em in.
