Shipwreckedcrew @shipwreckedcrew - I have to get gas every week. It comes out of my after-tax income.  Every week -- unless I drive to Nevada -- I pay and extra $1.50 because of Calif gas taxes and special refining costs.
Then I have to buy groceries.  Again with after-tax income.  When I check out I pay 7.25% sales tax to Calif.  In many counties there is an additional sales tax on top of that -- because counties don't have enough revenue to deal with all the state mandates.
Then the top marginal rate in Calif is added to federal income tax rates -- up to as high as 13.3%.  Thank God I don't have to pay that rate.
Keep blowing smoke up the arse of people who don't live in Calif.
Those of us who live here know better.
