Bahrain is a tiny island - smaller than New York City - sitting in the Persian Gulf, literally across from Qatar and a short distance from Saudi Arabia.
So, why is Iran sending missiles at this tiny island?
It hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters.
That’s the nerve center for American naval power in the Middle East.
The ships that patrol the Strait of Hormuz?
The carriers watching Iran?
The forces protecting oil routes?
A lot of that runs through Bahrain.
So when Bahrain’s Interior Ministry says sirens are sounding nationwide because of a “danger,” that’s not routine. That’s a country hosting one of the most important U.S military commands in the region going on alert.
