White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - VP Pool Report #6 Q&A
Highlights from Vance's Q&A with local outlets. Please check against a transcript/recording.
On affordability:
"We want people to be able to afford a good life. Nothing breaks my heart more. The idea that you've got somebody who goes out, they bust their rear end, they come home, they want to give their kids a nice meal maybe once or twice a year. They want to take their kids on a nice vacation. We want people to be able to afford that, so long as they work hard to play by the rules."
"Some of this is that the policies we've already put in place take a little bit of time to work their way through the system."
On data centers:
Vance highlighted the benefits of data centers, calling them essential to America’s future:
"Those data centers are like the gasoline of the technology revolution we’re gonna see over the next 75 years. And I don’t know about you all, but I want America to win that technology revolution. I don’t want China or some other country to win it.”
He also warned about potential electricity costs:
"What I think we ought to be working towards is you build those data centers and electricity costs come down for American citizens, instead of going up for American citizens…"

White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - VP Pool Report #5 Vance remarks
The event was live-streamed, but your pooler compiled a few highlights. Please verify quotes against the transcript or recording.
Vance referenced the State of the Union, criticizing Democrats for not standing when President Trump urged both parties to rise if they believed the government’s first duty is to protect Americans rather than undocumented immigrants.
He said the episode illustrated what’s at stake in November: “The State of the Union should have shown us that we cannot give power back to congressional Democrats.”
Vance recounted the moment with a young girl who had been assaulted by an illegal immigrant but had recovered. He spoke about how her joyful reunion with her father contrasted sharply with the Democrats’ reaction:
“Here’s a six-year-old girl, hurt by someone who should never have been in this country, showing strength and resilience. And the congressional Democrats? They sat there scowling, not clapping, not cheering.
The President said, ‘If you believe the government’s first priority should be Americans, stand up and cheer.’ Republicans stood. Democrats stayed silent.”
