Unnecessary exposure creates entry points for attackers. The #FBI encourages your organization to keep a concise list of internet-facing systems and their owners, remove anything that doesn’t need to be public, require authenticated gateways for what remains, disable direct internet-facing remote desktop, and regularly scan your public IP space to catch new exposures early.
This guidance—one of Operation Winter SHIELD’s 10 Key Defenses—applies to an expanding range of industries and systems. For example, operational technology (OT) systems that were once isolated are now more interconnected than ever, delivering efficiency and real-time visibility while also increasing cyber risks.

The JOC is focused on protecting the US athletes, 250,000 US citizens who traveled to Milan for the games, as well as the private sector companies we share information with every day.
Nearly 100 US Government personnel have been surged to support the Olympics since the start of 2026 - with lessons we’ll take into the FIFA World Cup later this summer.

CASE UPDATE from @FBITampa: Eleven Gang Members and Associates Indicted on Racketeering, Attempted Murder, Murder Conspiracy and Drug Trafficking Charges
According to court documents, all 11 defendants are alleged members and associates of the Sex Money Murder-24K (SMM-24K) gang, which was active inside and outside of the prison system in the State of Florida and engaged in extreme violence to retaliate against fellow members for perceived violations of gang rules.
