When we read about Jesus in the wilderness and His temptations from Satan, we should note that Satan never once made up a false verse nor used an outside source.
Satan used scripture to tempt Jesus, and never once did he misquote it.
He actually sinned while quoting the Bible, because His intent was to deceive.
Think about all those who love to quote verses, but only for their own glory. Or those who use Bible verses out of context to deceive those who don’t read it themselves. We think that the father of lies would make up false verses to tempt us, but that’s not his example. No, he lied while reading the verses verbatim.
Interpretation of the Bible matters.
