NEW: 29-year-old man arrested after using Fortnite, Roblox and Snapchat to groom and exploit a child, Florida AG James Uthmeier calls out parents for not monitoring their children's online activity.
"Parents need to wake up!" Uthmeier said.
According to Uthmeier, 29-year-old Justin Adkins of Rhode Island groomed and exploited a child in Florida.
Authorities say Adkins coerced the victim into making and sending hundreds of p*rnographic pictures and videos.
"It's a place where a stranger, an adult in another state, can get access to your little girl," Uthmeier said of online platforms.
"We've got to spend a little bit more time looking over the shoulder of our kids to see what they're doing and who they're doing it with and what platforms they're spending a lot of time with," said former Secret Service agent Bobby McDonald, according to KOMO News.
