The Vice President held his daughter Mirabel’s hands as they descended the stairs. The Second Lady was handed a bouquet of flowers after stepping on a green carpet that was laid out for the second family. Mirabel was handed a smaller bouquet of flowers.

White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - VP Pool Report #2 remarks an wheels up to Azerbaijan
The VP arrived at 3:32 p.m. A red carpet was rolled out for him and Armenian honor guard was in place. It is raining.
Press pool was already waiting at Zvartnots International Airport when VP motorcade arrived.
A group of Armenian press was waiting as well.
Vance helped his kids out of the car and they shook hands with a waiting gentleman and his children. We don’t have their names.
The second family chatted with them for a few minutes on the red carpet.
Vance came over to talk to the press for five minutes. Otters is below.
He thanked the Armenians for their hospitality, said they had a productive day and that U.S. efforts to boost the nations’ economic independence were necessary for peace.
Vance took a few questions on visit to the genocide memorial, Greenland, the Board of Peace and Armenian investment.
On Greenland, he did not answer specifics about what the U.S. would be getting that it doesn’t already have but said “I think it's only reasonable for the United States to get some benefit out of that, and that's going to be the focus of the negotiations here over the next few months.”
On the Board of Peace, he said he expects to attend the meeting coming up and said that “As important as the United Nations is,” he said, “it hasn't lived up to its full potential.”
On BOP:
“I do think it could create the kind of infrastructure that could lead to a lot of durable peace deals over the years to come.“
On raising Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan
“That’s certainly going to come up.”
We have roughly an hour flight to Azerbaijan and will be wheels up shortly.
