By some estimates 9-11% of the population of Europe will suffer from some form of age related cognitive impairment by 2050, including dementia. Europe should take steps now to build cities that reduce the risk of dementia and other lifestyle related diseases by building cities, towns and neighborhoods that are human scaled, where most daily necessities are easily reached on foot and whose design and density maximizes opportunities for activities that maximizes cognitive impairment risk reduction: access to nature, access to other peopl, and a full range of low risk hurdles that will literally keep us on our toes longer, to minimize the gap between healthy long life and final years of dependency. As a bonus these cities are also cheaper, far more sustainable and better for the environment.

This is how modernism maintains its hegemony - through snark, sarcasm, dismissiveness, bullying. Modernist architects enjoy a feeling of superiority for having what they are told is elite taste that sets them above what they see as low brow bourgeois taste.

Ed Gallrein @EdGallrein - “Here I am, Lord—send me.” Isaiah 6:8
Honored to serve as guest speaker at the Anderson County, KY Firefighters’ Annual Dinner, recognizing 150+ men and women who live out service above self.
Through severe winter weather and long, dangerous shifts, our firefighters and first responders answered the call—protecting neighbors and communities when it mattered most.
Proud to stand with those who stand for us. AsCongressman for Kentucky's 4th District, I will always have our first responders' backs and fight to ensure they have the resources, respect, and support they deserve.

Ed Gallrein @EdGallrein - Trump Country showed up strong Saturday at the Buffalo Trace Annual Lincoln–Reagan Dinner.
Robertson, Lewis, Mason, Fleming, and Bracken Counties delivered nearly 90% of the vote for President Trump in the last election—and the energy in the room reflected it. These voters know what’s at stake, and they were excited to meet President Trump’s complete and total endorsed candidate for Congress.
What mattered most to me was meeting the people of Kentucky—listening, shaking hands, and hearing directly what they want to see in their Congressman. Hard work, accountability, secure borders, strong national defense, and leadership that puts Kentucky and America first.
I was also proud to recognize Master Chief James Sandlin, U.S. Navy, and his wife, who represent a Kentucky legacy of Duty, Honor, and Country that still defines this party and our nation.
