White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - In-town pool No. 14 - Melania black carpet - Fed chair tomorrow now
Some quick news - Trump now saying he's announcing the Fed chair tomorrow morning. He also suggested a shutdown deal would be figured out before the Melania movie ends.
POTUS and FLOTUS stepped out onto the black carpet at 7:07 p.m. The carpet is black and the step and repeat is white with black lettering to match the aesthetic of the film's promo materials.
Moments before, Melania's father Viktor Knavs walked through and said he had seen the movie.
Pool is located at the very end of the carpet so a lot of what the First Lady and President are saying is inaudible.
They're doing separate interviews down the carpet.
"It really brings back the glamour," Trump said of the movie.
"This is like the good old days with the Academy Awards used to get ratings" he also said.
He's still walking the carpet.

More Trump quotes on the Fed chair pick (thanks CBS' Jennifer Jacobs.)
"Just an outstanding person and a person that won't be too surprising to people. A lot of people think that this is somebody that could have been there a few years ago. It's going to be somebody that is very respected, somebody that's known to everybody in the financial world. And I think it's going to be a very good choice. I hope so."
He was asked if the person had been on his publicized short list:
"On my reasonably shortlist."
