Megan Basham @megbasham - OK, I had a revelation today, and it might be one of those dumb things that everybody else has already thought about. But I just thought about it now so I’m gonna share.
So a while back my husband, who rarely gets on X, was asking me, “what is the deal with that platform. Every time I go on there it’s showing me black women beating up white women. Like in high schools or outside a club.” And I explained to him that if you ever click on a couple such videos, the algorithm will start to serve you a bunch more.
I have been playing around over at Instagram lately, and the first couple cool conservative reels I saw were from black Christian women. And because I liked and followed them, now my feed is FULL of black conservative women.
And if I didn’t know any better, I would think all black women support ICE and have had it with the liberal agenda.
And if my husband didn’t know any better, he would think that black women are always beating up white women.
And all I’m saying is, these algorithms are tearing us apart. I know. Like I said, it was kind of a duh thing, but for some reason, it just hit me afresh.
