Merriam-Webster @MerriamWebster - 'Escalate,' as in "tensions escalate," comes from the word 'escalator.'
It first appeared in print in 1944.
'Escalator' originated as a trademarked term for the Otis Elevator Company's moving staircase and was demonstrated at the Paris Exposition in 1900.

Michael Warburton @TheMonologist - “What I’m suggesting Mr President is a military plot to take over the Government.”
SEVEN DAYS IN MAY (1964)
JFK read the book in ‘61 & encouraged Frankenheimer believing the scenario entirely possible.
JFK was assassinated 3 months before its release.

Michael Weiss @michaeldweiss - Video: Well, well, well.
"A number of months ago, the U.S. captured a weapon that has been associated with Havana Syndrome. Both said it was seized by U.S. Special Forces during an operation...the weapon is under the Defense Department’s Intelligence & Security unit."

A Midwestern Doctor @MidwesternDoc - I would normally 100% support something like this, but the "pesticide" in question, hypochlorous acid has negligible toxicity and is something I routinely use as a disinfectant (including in the mouth and sinuses) because of that. Pesticides in contrast are neurotoxins.

Attorney General Ken Paxton @KenPaxtonTX
NEW: I'm investigating major grocery chains for spraying organic produce with pesticides without telling consumers.
It's not only wrong for grocers to mislead consumers about chemicals being sprayed on their food—it may very well be illegal.

Midwest vs. The Rest @midwestern_ope - Things to remember when in the Midwest
1. If someone waves you through a 4 way stop, just go, it doesn’t have to make sense.
2. Chili is better on the second day.
3. “Living the dream” is a cry for help.
4. “Alright, welp” is a sign that it’s time to go. https://x.com/midwestern_ope/status/2010764583875551263
Midwest vs. The Rest @midwestern_ope - Midwesterners will say “no yeah” and you have to understand that means “yes”

Mike Benz @MikeBenzCyber - This cannot stand. It'll be hard to describe the level of betrayal voters like me will feel for being forced to fund, yet again, with no strings attached, this monstruous organization which has targeted us all so ruthlessly and so systematically with our own tax money.

Oversight Project @ItsYourGov
The swamp wins again.
Latest funding bill includes $315 million for the National Endowment for Democracy, a far left org that attacks conservative media outlets.
The House must defund this monstrosity.

Mike Lee @BasedMikeLee - If there are senators who oppose the SAVE Act, they should have to signal their opposition with their vote
Americans overwhelmingly support this bill, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote
Senators shouldn’t be able to kill it with mere silence & inaction

MOMof DataRepublican @data_republican - 19 years ago today I became a grandmother for the first time. My brain says, "I'm too young to be that old!" But inother ways, I can't remember what life was like before my 4 amazing grandsons blessed my life.
