Marina Medvin @MarinaMedvin - The reason agitators are running amok, driving Border Patrol and ICE agents to interact with them and even arrest them, is that local police are not enforcing local laws against the agitators. Localities are making a deliberate, political decision to sit back and allow confrontations with federal agents. This approach creates problems for both outraged civilians and frustrated federal agents. It causes more harm to the people on both sides.
If the Minneapolis Police Department had dealt with Renee Good, for example, she might not have decided to accelerate toward an officer, and she might be alive today. Political decisions to avoid enforcing local laws around federal agents are the catalyst for the trouble we have been seeing. That is the real culprit behind the escalation.
