Buzz Patterson @BuzzPatterson - One time, on an Air Force C-141 mission to Nairobi, Kenya, I reenlisted one of my NCO’s in a hotel swimming pool. We were on a 17-day deployment flying around Africa and back/forth to India. Really cool mission.
During the trip, one of my NCO flight engineers needed to be reenlisted before we got home. The whole crew was in the pool after a long day, with a swim up bar. One of the other E’s ran up to his room to grab his American flag patch from his flight suit.
He held it behind us as we stood there, in the pool, only bathing suits, hands raised, and I reenlisted my flight engineer.

We only left our vehicle when rioters assaulted or clashed with agents. Our job is to film. They would mob and attack us every time.
