Dogwood Blooms @dogwoodblooms - Fun Fact: North Carolina didn’t join the union until 1789. We waited more than two years after the first nine colonies signed to ratify the Constitution.
Why?
The Constitution formed a much stronger federal government than the Articles of Confederation, a fact that left many North Carolinians worried for the future of the colony’s independence.
Anti-Federalist sentiments were strong at North Carolina’s Constitutional Convention in Hillsborough of 1788. Willie Jones, of Eastern North Carolina, held up a list of rights at the end and demanded they be added to the Constitution.
A year later, the Bill of Rights was ratified.
North Carolina feeling more confident in the protection of individual and states rights, became the 12th colony to join the Union on November 21, 1789.

Ed Krassenstein @EdKrassen - BREAKING: Republican Congressman Roger Williams tells Americans that they need to stop protesting, speaking out, and just obey.
"People need to quit demonstrating, quit yelling at law-enforcement, challenging law-enforcement and begin to get civil."
This is what the Republicans want: Absolute obedience to the supreme leader. They don't want you questioning anything.
