Embajada de los EE.UU., Venezuela @usembassyve - Translated from Spanish
January 3, 2026: Do Not Travel to Venezuela
Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive security updates. The security situation in Venezuela remains unstable. The U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia, advises U.S. citizens not to travel to Venezuela. U.S. citizens in Venezuela should take precautions and remain aware of their surroundings. Currently, there are no commercial flights operating to or from Venezuela.
Venezuela maintains the highest level of travel advisory — Level 4: Do Not Travel — due to serious risks to U.S. citizens, including arbitrary detention, torture during detention, terrorism, kidnapping, arbitrary enforcement of local laws, crime, civil unrest, and poor health care infrastructure.
In March 2019, the U.S. Department of State withdrew all diplomatic personnel from the U.S. Embassy in Caracas and suspended operations. All consular services, both routine and emergency, remain suspended. The U.S. government continues to be unable to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in Venezuela.
Actions to Take:
* Do not travel to Venezuela.
* U.S. citizens in Venezuela should take precautions to ensure their safety.
* U.S. citizens in Venezuela should establish multiple means of communication with family and friends outside the country.
* Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program and follow us on Facebook and X for security updates.

Emmanuel Macron @EmmanuelMacron - The Venezuelan people are today rid of Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship and can only rejoice.
By seizing power and trampling on fundamental freedoms, Nicolás Maduro gravely undermined the dignity of his own people.
The upcoming transition must be peaceful, democratic, and respectful of the will of the Venezuelan people. We wish that President Edmundo González Urrutia, elected in 2024, can swiftly ensure this transition.
I am currently exchanging with our partners in the region.
France is fully mobilized and vigilant, including to ensure the safety of its nationals during these uncertain times.

Emerald Robinson ✝ @EmeraldRobinson - I was one of the last people to talk with Lou Dobbs before he died. We were going to co-host a show together at the RNC in mid-2024.
He never made it out of the hospital.
Wish I could call him to celebrate Maduro's arrest & mock the cowards at Fox News.
We miss you, Lou.
