DOGE HHS @DOGE_HHS - The HHS DOGE team has expanded the Defend the Spend system to require all ACF payments across America to be justified. 
Since March 2025, Defend the Spend has applied only to HHS discretionary payments, which did not include these ACF payments.  
Over the coming days, we will expand the system to support itemized receipts and photographic evidence, and make all data/receipts, where possible, available to the public.

You have probably read the serious allegations that the state of Minnesota has funneled millions of taxpayer dollars to fraudulent daycares across Minnesota over the past decade.
Today we have taken three actions against the blatant fraud that appears to be rampant in Minnesota and across the country:
1. I have activated our defend the spend system for all ACF payments. Starting today, all ACF payments across America will require a justification and a receipt or photo evidence before we send money to a state.
2. Alex Adams and I have identified the individuals in @nickshirleyy's excellent work. I have demanded from @GovTimWalz a comprehensive audit of these centers. This includes attendance records, licenses, complaints, investigations, and inspections.
3. We have launched a dedicated fraud-reporting hotline and email address at https://childcare.gov Whether you are a parent, provider, or member of the general public, we want to hear from you.
We have turned off the money spigot and we are finding the fraud.

Don Shift (buy my books) @DonShift3 - I'd like to announce my promotion to Inspector with the Ventura County Joint Radio Spectrum Protection and Monitoring Unit. We use specially equipped unmarked patrol vehicles to detect and triangulate unlicensed and inappropriate usages of the radio spectrum in cooperation with the FCC and local amateur radio operators (hams).
This year, VCJRSPAMU has apprehended 6 people for using a Baofeng radio on GRMS and other unapproved frequencies, 2 unregistered drone pilots, and 1 person using a ham radio without a license (although his charges were dismissed because he was stranded in a snowstorm). 
Ventura County takes a very serious stance towards illegal radio spectrum usage and I'm proud to be a member of the team in 2026.
