Mr Commonsense @fopminui - Eight years ago, a Michigan nursing home had an unexpected visitor in the middle of the night. A black dog wandered in, curled up on the lobby couch, and fell asleep like he had always belonged there.
At first, the staff thought it was just a mistake. The sheriff traced him back to the animal shelter across the street, and the dog was returned. But then he came back. Not once, but multiple times.
That’s when the staff realized something important: this dog wasn’t lost. He had chosen them.
They named him Scout, and he became the heart of the senior living community. He roamed freely, visited residents in their rooms, and even acted as a security guard. But more than anything, he brought comfort and joy.
For eight years now, Scout has been more than a pet—he’s been family. And maybe that’s the real magic of dogs: sometimes, they don’t wait for us to adopt them. They adopt us. ❤..

Nancy Charles @cancelwok3 - Sitting in adoration today, I witnessed something I’ve never seen before. A parishioner was changing out the red candle that bears witness to Our Lords true presence in the Blessed Sacrament.
For anyone who knows my story, my conversion happened as I was staring directly into the blessed sacrament candle. I was a deeply lost and deeply fractured soul who had come to the end of myself in a very real way, and found myself stumbling into a Traditional Latin Mass one early Sunday morning. Being as I looked like I belonged at a pride parade when I had arrived to Mass, I was absolutely terrified of staying there. I thought everyone would hate me and run me out for some reason.
Of course at the time I knew nothing about Catholicism or the Eucharist… or even that this red candle held significance. But… just before I was ready to bolt out the door, the red candle caught my gaze and I couldn’t stop staring at it. All I could hear in my head over and over again was, “Keep looking at me.”
I was captivated by the red candle, and shortly after, that’s when I heard an organ play, and instantly everything inside of me just poured out and I wept like I had never wept before. I had felt, in that moment, the most radical love I had ever felt in my entire life. It felt like I was being held deeply at the core of my soul by the Creator Himself, and it broke me wide open in a way that would change the entire trajectory of my life. From that point forward, I knew Jesus was real and that I was made to love and be loved by Him. I left everything behind and started catechesis with one of the parish priests the following week.
That was back on March 19, 2023. I was confirmed into the Church later that year on Sept 29, 2023.
Whenever I sit before Our Lord, I’m still always so moved by the candle that stands guard. The flickering light that sits quietly still, yet still screams the loudest truth that’s ever pierced my soul. “He’s here.”
