1) The FBI agent testifying says that a worker claims that Epstein was more pleasant to work with than Ghislaine, and that after Ghislaine entered the picture, Epstein became more secretive. 
Once Ghislaine arrived he wasn't allowed to be in the room as guests, speak with them, associate with them, or even make eye contact.
This lends more validity to the belief that Ghislaine changed (or rather elevated) the Epstein operation to new levels of deception and criminality. 
2) Both Epstein and Ghislaine hunted a 13-14 year old who they saw at a summer camp called Interlochen who wanted to be a singer. Her father had recently passed away and her and her siblings and mother were struggling financially. Epstein lied and said that he gave "scholarships" to good students. 
The girl and her mother met with Epstein at his home in Palm Beach. Epstein said he liked to "mentor people." The mother was happy at the time, believing this to be a lucky break for her daughter.
The relationship with Epstein continued until age 17. They refer to this time period from 14-17 as grooming. Epstein gave her cash and gifts and took her shopping and they spoke of her ambitions. 
She said she wanted to be an actress and a model and Epstein said he was best friends with the owner of Victoria's Secret (Lex Wexner). When she asked what it would take to succeed, Epstein said to "not be a prude," and then began pleasuring himself in front of her. It was from this point that the relationship became sexual.
