derek guy @dieworkwear - A British bespoke shoemaker recently told me a story about Frank Sinatra. Sometime in the 1960s or 70s, a reporter waltzed into a London-based lastmaking operation. Lasts, as you know, are the wooden forms made according to a client's feet, which are then used to determine the shape of the client's shoes. 
While the reporter was at the the shop, the manager there pulled a pair of lasts down from a shelf. "These are Frank Sinatra's lasts," he said proudly. Then he pulled a pair of boots off the same shelf. "And these are his boots." The reporter and the manager discussed the shape of Sinatra's feet for a while, going back and forth on his stylistic decisions. 
Supposedly, when the segment aired, Frank Sinatra caught it on television. And he took a flight straight to London, walked into the stop, and berated the manager. There's an unspoken understanding that clients of bespoke tailors and shoemakers should remain private and Sinatra didn't like his name being publicly used for commercial promotion, especially without his permission. Thereafter, the firm made sure to never mention a client's name again, Sinatra's or otherwise.
