Because of the old confusion, U.S. firms had to lock up extra money, putting them at a disadvantage against foreign competitors.
The Trump Administration’s CFTC has now clarified the rules and removed these duplicative requirements. This frees up more than $22 billion that U.S. investors and businesses can put to better use. Cutting this red tape lowers costs and gives American companies a fairer chance to compete overseas.
